Jerry,they are absolutely beautiful. I love the way you use masking tape instead of a rubber band. You are a great craftsman.

Very glad to have been of some help. Accuracy is the key, and I would suggest dialing in to the correct angle using some cheap scrap wood first to fine tune the angles on your saw.

Thank you Jerry for uploading that, so much faster than my method, well done.

Hi Doug, hope you don't mind me jumping in to help here. The math is really quite simple. There are 360 degrees in a circle. Divide 360 by the number of pieces you want in the ring, and that gives you the angle you need to cut each piece. For example, if you want 16 pieces in the ring: 360 /16=22.5 degrees. Now the thing to remember here is that each piece will have two cuts (one on each end), so split that 22.5 in half and cut an 11.25 degree angle on each end. I hope this helps. Eric

Thank you Eric, another door has opened. So simple when you think about it, I didn't but now can make any diameter circle without the guesswork.

Beautiful projects,what angle was the blade set at?

The Dubby Jig has premarked settings for number of segments, not degree markings. I can testify as to its accuracy. I have a ring with 16 segments that fit perfectly with no sanding.

You mention a book, I think, called, polyglot. Is that right? Does it have something to do with this? Also it looks like you have a sliding jig to help with this'll did you make this?

It's called Polygons

Thanks for sharing. I use my $ 12.00 calculator to find cut length. To find cut length 8.0 diameter 8 segments 360 degrees / 8 segments = 45 degrees 45 degrees / 2 = 22.5 degrees 22.5 degrees tangent = .4142 8.0 diameter / 2 = 4.00 radius 4.0 radius x .4142 tangent = 1.6568 ( side opposite ) 1.6568 ( side opposite ) x 2 = cut length cut length 3.3137 or 3 5/16 OR TANGENT X DIAMENTER == CUT LENGTH
