all you need is a hobby knife, or utility knife. clamp down firmly, with a straight edge on top to guide your cut. first pass to cut the plastic coating, then press a bit harder on each pass. 10 to 15 passes and press down on the Plexiglas firmly. till it breaks apart.

Tip: if you have a local glass shop buy plexiglass from them and they will cut it for you and you're supporting a local business.

And what works better, for this, is the tool Made for this. The Red Devil Acrylic Sheet Cutter. The Right tool. Acrylic sheet is not made to be cut with knife or saw. It must be scored and snapped off.

It gets harder as the cut gets longer. It is tough to snap straight when the cut is 3 feet (0.9 meters) long.

If you use a level and step on the edge with a foot and hold the other edge with your other hand... it works. I know you have to have a level, but I guess he's assuming you'll have some basic tools. So, that's what I've done most often in my 20 years of construction.

@sparky107107
@sparky107107 3 жыл бұрын
cutting anything like that is hard. I did do glass cutting at one point in life. you had to cut lots of straight lines to break it down and then sand stone it to the finish. I would imagine it is the same here, cut slight curves to break it off, then some sanding to get it just right

How would that work? a glass cutter has a WHEEL, So you cant get it into a straight edge joint, And the wheel cutter ROLLS to etch glass not cut plastic, you should stay away from tools and stick to fixing sandwiches.🤪
