@@rebeccaofsunnybrookefarm8469 Rebecca, hi yes this rock collecting is really cool maybe he could make some jewelry with it. Although you probably need a Dremel with diamond cutting blades I would think? Keep looking up don't let this temporary situation, get you down! bye for now, stay busy God bless you! & Keep Looking Up Ken.

How's it going bro, This is another Channel I don't think you're familiar with it. I'd ask you one time about making pendants with some of those slabs you've made, Although I think you can buy the hardware to do that online for jewelry making just to give you a heads up. Question how do you know the difference between petrified wood in a brown rock what are the signs I what do you look for,? And how do you know the difference between an agate and Jasper? My channel is a home improvement how to channel. But I have an interest in rocks and I picked up a few the other day from a riverbed out here by my house then I'm going to show here on my channel and maybe even cut some open but I don't even know what I'm looking at so I guess I'm going to call it something like Discovery or discovering your rocks are what's under your feet you know something like that LOL I look forward to hear from you God bless you bye for now Ken PS I look forward to hear from you bro bye for now

I love that you had a story for each rock. They're like friends you meet over the years, each with a special set of circumstances. There really is something about a smooth shiny rock. We seem to use all of our senses as we enjoy them, even remembering the smell of the river or the vegetation where they were found. So I don't think it's weird to enjoy the feel of them! Thank you for this wonderful video and for sharing your special rock buddies with us. Take care. 😊

Rocks are like us,.... beautiful with all of our cracks and imperfections..... Each one having different character with so much to share. The rocks we collect, many times, bring back the great memories of a wonderful day on the river or in the mountains or on the prairies, when they were collected. Like an old friend to remind us of the good times. They represent some of the precious memories of our lives ....and of ages gone by. Cheers to the new and coming days on the river and adventures to come! Thanks for sharing your rocks with us..

hello My name is Tammy, I am also from Billings born and raised. My paternal grandmother was part of the rock and gem club in Mt for many many years, I have photo albums dating clear back to 1945, she was also the secretary for many years. So I have been hounding since I was old enough to carry a heavy bucket of rocks down the yellowstone River Valley. Its in the genes because one of my daughter has picked up rockhounding and we are teaching the grandkids all about it, great family activity we all have our favorites.

My wife and I go on adventures all over the country and we do some homework of where some potential for good finds are. We always make it a point to at least find a pocket full of specimens. We have tons of rocks! We tumbled some. We have tons of memories attached to these rocks. An emerald we found rockhounding on a trip we got engaged on is now in her wedding ring... which is her birthstone. Rockhounding is such a great hobby!

The one @ 15:15 is called _unakite._ I'd wager money that's what it is. It's also a stunning example as well! Most are more pinkish and green than dark red like that. It's generally found in areas rich with copper and iron deposits. Yours was probably imported from Canada via a 1.3 mile tall glacier about 9,000+ years ago and the river cutting through the glacial till washed it into the Yellowstone then into your collection. Enjoy it! It''s an extraordinary example of a _somewhat_ common collectible rock.

The one @ 15:19 is unakite. It's composed of orthoclase feldspar and epidote. They're usually more green than pink, but depending on how the original chunk broke. They can be more pink or pinkish red than green. If cut and polished right, they work really good for jewelry.

I have been watching your videos from that very first one, hehe! It's been a very nice journey, and can't wait for more. That one stone does look very similar to picture jasper. Not weird at all, I'll bet that most of us love the feel of running our fingers over certain stones. Awwww, you and your wife have created a future rockhounder! So glad you enjoy the videos. I remember where many of my rocks came from. They truly are so much more than rocks.

I'm jealous and blessed petrified wood isn't as readily available where I live or my husband would have to sneak hide pieces of it because I would be displaying those EVERYWHERE. I love literally every piece I've ever seen of it lol

These turned out beautiful, love the banding! Love the shapes and colors too. Great job tumbling them. Gives me hope on my first tumble. I plan to run the first stage 2 or 3 weeks with weekly clean outs, then go a week for the other 3 stages.
