Funny hens that give two yolks per egg. You get double or nothing from the laying hens but the house wins all the time. Sorry to see the goats go as part of the videos. They were the hams with the pigs.

Okay guys... you know what would help us picture this better? maybe a drone shot or something. You had so many buildings (nice to see the last one get torn down) and all these pastures and hay fields... plus your main house, pole barn shop, pond, etc.... It's hard to figure out the lay of the land, you know? Anyway... thanks for sharing and keeping us posted. Love your uploads.

Greetings! An easy way to check your sickle function is to come to a stop, pto running, let the machine flush out, kill the pto, and back up with the header up. The inertia will throw the cut hay back 4-5’, leaving a (hopefully) clean area. If a section is loose or a guard is bent out of alignment, you’ll see a line of uncut hay that might not have been visible under the cut hay.

The one I can’t understand with this cutter bar is why it has serrated knife sections normally used on a combine for cutting dry straw. Every cuttterbar i ever saw in England back in the sixties the sections were flat and plain. It’s just a great mower though, with a very good breadth of cut. You both have done a great job restoring this mower for posterity.

The PT10 we had gave us a few issues with the sickle adjustment, but not too bad. My JD 1209 had it's bed plate bent, you couldn't get the sickle out without using a chain to pull it and a hammer to drive it in. Nice to hear you had someone to take all the goats, we had Nubian's back in the early 90's, cute but a lot of work. Thanks for sharing, I hope you both have a nice week, stay cool.

JudithB I always had several projects going at one time due to weather and supplies, etc. This year I am concentrating on repairs and replacements. Replaced the vacuum and my mattress. Repairs done on my truck, and mower. Plumbing is next and depending on the cost may get some smaller things replaced too! It is taking nearly double the money to do anything, so will have to schedule more repairs next year. UGH!

Probably not in your plans, but I would consider getting a side by side and small trailer instead of using the truck for small tasks like moving fencing. The side by side would be able to get into smaller areas and not waste so much gas. I was looking at a Multilander Off-Road ATV Trailer with KAWASAKI MULE side by side.
@CountryViewAcres

You must have tighter areas than me. I don't need to get into the woods and drive on trails. A truck will do what I need. Saves me a lot of money, not buying a side by side. For me the money would be better spent on a barn or shed, something that will last me my lifetime and increase my property value.

mainly it's the gas. I have a 2004 ram with a hemi. I didn't think I would want one, but my buddy has 60 acres here in Texas and he swears by it.
