Cutting the triangle out of curly hair

With this cutting system of angles in motion, we are cutting the hair with the head shape in order to make hair round, not square or triangular

Wow! This is perfect. My hair loves its triangle. I cut it and then months later somehow the cut grows to the triangle.

So many more hair stylists need to learn to cut curly hair! I was literally in a chair once and the hair dresser (thankfully knew her limits) passed me over to another.

Notice how he is cutting hair that is fully styled as it is intended to be worn! So many hair dressers just want to just wet hair and treat it like it is straight. They'll then wow you with products and a diffuse and let you watch the curls form and it is always so disheartening to see they botched the cut. Curly hair takes so much more effort to grow that length back out too!

In my case, my hair is a wavy type 2b, maybe a 2c. I wish for the life of me that I could find an educated stylist who isn't overpriced, and actually does cut my hair damp, yet doesn't take more off than I ask for. A dry cut is just bad for my hair type. I haven't gotten it cut in 3 years because nobody good exists who will allow me to have my long beach waves. Either they want to change who I am or they botch it up.

I need to do this at home by myself. But I don't understand which way the 45 degree angle is pointing when you snip it. Is the wide part of the angle toward your fingers or toward your palm?

I think it's relative to each segment of hair that is grabbed and what layer you are tackling. Notice how that short piece of the bangs, he doesn't even really trim that, just lines up from. The angle the creates a clean cascade of layers that move away from the bangs. Generally he is minimizing the length take towards the front of the hair and face, and creating layers that sit shorter toward the back. Also as he grabs a big bunch the strands are all reaching different lengths so he is also trying to just get at the split ends while. If he cut straight across it would take off too much from certain layers. Definitely an intuition and art because you have to counter for multiple techniques.

When he turns the hair from right to left, the tip of fingers are inclined more to the left. When he turns the hair from left to right, the tip of fingers are inclined more to the right.
