That looks like a Skytop brand sunroof. I installed those in a lot of new cars when I lived in Sydney and in NewZealand. Love the B110 coupes, I built and rallied one for a few years in the 80's
@notevn Жыл бұрын
It's a hollandia/webasto one, same as fitted to e-types etc of the era. very similar though, you don't hear much about sunroof installs anymore these days so I had no idea how to even go about the process of the hem. I was waiting for someone to comment after I had made the tooling and tell me their dads had the tooling in their garden shed for 40 years haha.

@@notevnthe tooling you made looked exactly the same as what we used 40 odd years ago. Ya makin me feel old bud. Skytop copied Hollandia's design and was made in the USA

Didn't think this coupe could get any cooler. BTW the deflector is so nice, especially in the brushed finish. Looks so period correct - don't get rid of it mate!

I personally like the defector and adds that little zesty touch, it'll fit well with your little ducktail spoiler once the cars all painted. But as always taste is subjective and that's what makes cars so great, you do what you want and ignore the noise 👌🤝

It has grown on me since being raw aluminium finish instead of painted, it does make it look much more factory!

I’m a fan of the sunroof deflector, it suits imo, reminds me of a mx73 Cressida deflector.

I think it would be. They were fitted to a lot of cars back then. Great quality and you can't complain if it's still working today.

I thought I filmed that on a time-lapse but my phone rang and it cut the video annoyingly. I pushed it over 180 with a tool called a skin zipper. Goes on the air chisel. Suprisingly worked perfectly, one lap around to turn it to 45 and then another lap around to really pinch it closed and tight. a door skin tool didn't fit in the space between the skin and tray.
