Yes, they are cephalopods distantly related to octopus and closer related to squids. The difference between squid and cuttlefish is that cuttlefish has a thicker shell-like part called a cuttlebone. Squid has a similar structure called a pen, just thinner. Hope this helps. ☺

The cuttlefish and squid, I only cook them grilled or with a sauce of onion and green peppers, without boiling them first. I'm going to try that system, they will surely be more tender. Thank you

Why do the veggies always get cleaned/prepped AFTER the meats & seafoods? Isn't that cross contamination? My Mom is allergic to shrimp for example & wouldn't be able to eat anything that has been prepared after/on the same surface as the shrimp or she'd be at risk for a definite allergic reaction. Her throat would close and she wouldn't be able to breathe.😖😖😞😓

Cross contamination only matters in a handful of situations. In a restaurant Dealing with people with special diseases Or if not all the items that are being cut are going to be cooked If none of these criteria is met then you can cut out of order, I learned that in a cooking class Abilene, Texas!

@@AM-ti2yg In my Mom's case for instance...The cutting board and knife for example...if she were getting a dish with the broccoli that was prepared on the same cutting board and same knife as the shrimp she would get sick. She can't risk eating for example places that fry shrimp b/c they may use that same oil for the french fries and or fish.
