Cuyahoga Valley National Park has many great, varied, and beautiful trails you can walk, bike, or hike. It's a great park for birdwatchers, and its not unusual to see deer, beavers, and smaller wildlife...turtles, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, snakes, raccoons, opposum, skunks,etc. We do have coyotes, but you won't see them very often. The towpath, to me, is too busy, but the historical areas are interesting. The train you heard was likely the park's passenger train, used for scenic tours of the park. We also have many beautiful STATE parks in northeast Ohio.

Yes, the park is beautiful, though the history of how it was established by forcing out people living in more than 400 homes and small businesses might surprise you. There is a very good video done by PBS on KZbin called For the Good of All that tells it's story.
