Great review - I just purchased one of these Special Editions and your review is 100% accurate. I got the AWD option also which is not available on the base model. If you've done a review on the handling it would be worth a mention - my 2017 FWD had severe understeer but that seems to be a bit better with the AWD version so far.

Not a bad vehicle. I really dislike the engine though, not much power at all. But I also drive a performance car and that’s what I’m use to driving now so when I get in this I find it very under powered. Also the steering wheel doesn’t get very warm. Other than that pretty decent suv.

Live in Canada and bought my Special Edition in May, 2020. I'm not pleased with the gas mileage around town/city, which is where I do the majority of my driving. I only get 14.5L/100km, which is just shy of 20 imperial mpg here in Canada or 16.65 mpg for the United States. That's terrible. However, I got a fantastic deal with lots of rebates and incentives, the highway mileage is great and overall it offered tremendous value for the money. High marks for the dealership also. So overall, I'm satisified.

interest 14.5l/ 100 kms is pretty low are you driving in sport mode? I have a rogue and do mostly city driving and I am at about 10.9 L /100 kms

I have the 2017 Rogue, why do you think Nissan didn't go with Projector beams on their S and SV Trims? While I love my car, almost all the crossovers on the road like the Rav 4, Santa Fe, Forrester, CRV, and CX-5 just to name a few, they all use projector beams on all their trim lines.

@@carsunlocked I agree with you. But those cars I listed like the CRV, they have projector beams on halogen bulbs. I wish they did that with the S and SV. Making it feel more premium. I asked Nissan if they can swap the housing and they refused to do it.

I'm very surprised that they're still using that 170 hp CVT engine, particularly when it's the Special edition Rogue. It would've been nice if they offered an optional bigger engine😕 as they've been using that same engine for quite some time. Also, that infotainment screen looks rather small, but otherwise, it's still a very competitive, practical SUV.

With $ 4.29 a GAL fuel, I'm loving my 2020 Rouge special edition, Before buying this, we had a 2013 KIA Sorento FD 6cl. a guy ran a red light, totaled it, and almost me too... My other car is a 2007 Jaguar XK Convertible 1 of 97, Winter Gold. MPG = 19 city/ 32 highway, Car show car, and all-around fun drive. My wife drives a 2016 Buick Encore.

I don’t really like these base model rogues, I don’t hate them that much but they aren’t as nice or as loaded as an SL Rogue with the premium package that offers the xenon headlights and have the bolder and more aggressive housing and styling into the headlights.

I agree with you, but the pricing difference between the models is a huge deterrent for certain clientele. You are talking about an almost $10,000 price difference between your S-SL model which is a lot for some people. I think based on the price point difference you still get a good amount of features on the special edition package.

Rob Reilly my grandma has a 2019 Nissan Rogue SL with the premium package. She’s got the gun metallic exterior and her SL rogue has 14,000 miles just about now and she has had it almost a year now. It’s got every single option for 2019 and it was 36,000$ brand new. I agree too. Most people only buy the SV or the S model because I’m assuming that’s what the norm of the people that can afford. I just thought I mention about an SL with the premium package.

We got this exact vehicle color and all from a dealer it was a rental return with 17K miles, AWD, still under Manufacture warranty and not a scratch on it.. We saved over $10k vs a new one. We absolutely love it though it really could use more horse power but for an everyday driver with no need to drive quick it is perfect for my wife and I that are in our mid to late 50's. I test drove quite a few different makes and models and this is by far the most comfortable in my opinion.
