Nice upgrade Fil, those crawler wheels and tyres will go great on the new CW01 Pajero that Tamiya have just released! 🤓 👍Great show mate.

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. The Pajero CW01 would look awesome with some meaty crawler tires on it! 👌

Nice! Those 12 mm hex axles are a game changer. Now I can switch the rims and tires on my Tamiya Wild Willy. Excellent video Fil!

Very cool thanks for sharing! I kind like the look of it with the crawler wheels and tires on there, I was surprised on how cool it looked! It would probably drive fairly awful like that would look cool doing it!

I was shocked too, those crawler tires looked awesome on there! I can only imagine the first high speed turn though... 🤣🤣🤣

The rear Hex is widely available everywhere as a 15mm spacer 12mm hex kit. The front however I've never seen before and I'm quite keen to have it available locally. Would be great on the Stadium Thunder/Blitzer Beetle kit. Nice find Fil.

Heads up: the same sellers/manufacturer makes the same kit for grasshopper, frog, DTO3, etc. listed as: @HobbyMarking RC Car 1/10 Aluminum 12mm Hex Wheels Rims Hub Adapter for Tamiya DT-02 DF02 Holiday Buggy 2WD Off-Road Upgrad Parts” The old-school buggies have a shorter front axle. I ran into this problem, trying to fit Blackfoot tires to some of these cars. You do not have enough thread to put your nuts on. I just ordered ASAP for my frog. Thanks for the heads up. !

Just subscribed ! These look like they'll work on the Blackfoot also right ?

Thanks for the sub! I haven't tried them on my BF yet, but I'm 90% sure they'd fit. If memory serves, the BF and MP have same width front uprights.

Great video Fil. Did you find the front lock nuts backing of or drag wheel to nut? I bought a bulk package of cheap O's and binned them. My brat and frog being the cars in question.
@poorboysrc2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the front lock nuts need attention, too tight and they stop the wheel from moving at all! I had to back them out a full turn to relieve the resistance. 👊

cool upgrade! what wheels do you think you are going to put on it?? seems like a cool rc lol

Nice video! I have a question. Would about if you wanted to used a cw-01 wheel on a hex chasis. Is there a salutation for that?
@poorboysrc Жыл бұрын
Super easy! Instead of using the 12mm hex, install the CW01 wheel adapter on the pin, then seat your CW01 wheel on there. 👊

I've used another version of this (GPM I think), The main issue is with the front. Because the front wheel now spins separately to the front axle, it causes the wheel to bind on the (now stationary) wheel nut. I suspect that's why your front wheel wouldn't spin. Not a great solution to me..
@poorboysrc2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Before the mod, the front upright (axle) is stationary and the wheel nut is stationary. After the mod nothing has changed, the 12mm adapter is rotating on the stationary upright just as the stock wheel would have. What I can say is that my uprights are not stock, also GPM, I believe... They're all aluminum, perhaps the threaded lockout portion is a little longer than stock? Not sure, but by simy backing out the lock nut 1/2 turn all was right in the world again. 👊
@toyolien16942 жыл бұрын
@@poorboysrc Perhaps I didn't explain it very well. With the stock bearing fitment wheels, the wheel nut presses on the bearing when tightened. With this 12mm hex set up, the wheel nut presses on the wheel (which is spinning). That's what causes the binding. As you know, with all proper 12mm front hex set ups, the bearings are houses in the hub which allows the axle to turn with the wheel, so there is no binding.
@poorboysrc2 жыл бұрын
@@toyolien1694 ah I gotcha! I see what you're saying and you're bang-on, the lock nut is definitely in contact with the wheel, but if you back it off ever so slightly it will not bind. Just have to keep an eye on those 4mm lock nuts so they don't back right out and fall off! 🍻
