Too fun!!! I just shared this with David Alexander to hear what he says! I love it! We are all Born Again, Charismatic, Evangelical, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!!

I'm fascinated with Brother Hewlett's recollection of the Kirtland Era! Though I live in Utah, for the past 3 years I was born and raised in Ohio, not far from the Kirkland area. When I learned of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints (in the southern part of Ohio, I couldn't wait to visit Kirtland. With it only being a 4-5 hour drive, I made many trips to Kirtland! I remember all that he said about the major roads that we had to cross between the Newell K Whitney store and the Newell K Whitney home. I saw the change after the purchase. I remember the Steve Young incident. I had an opportunity to attend a Fast and Testimony meeting in the Kirtland Temple! My institute Instructor told about visiting the Newell K. Whitney store while it was being renovated after the Church's purchase! So many wonderful memories of that area! I remember the arsen fire of the Stake Center (number 10 of 10 arson fires in the area) and that the Family History portion of the building was not harmed! Carl Anderson came to our little Branch building in Xenia, Ohio to speak to us. Much later his son, Joel and his family moved into our ward and is now the Bishop of the fairly newly formed Beavercreek 2nd ward. I gave Joel a picture I took of his dad, Carl and President Benson at the ground breaking of the Hiram, Ohio Branch on the John Johnson farm! I treasure hearing Brother Hewett's remarks! Thank you for sharing!❤

Dear Greg, Maybe you recall that I am not LDS but I really enjoyed this episode. I had seen the program before and, as so many of your programs are so positive, even non-LDS folk, can appreciate the happy story and the telling of it. A poem that I know many LDS have read is Wordsworth's " Intimations of Immortality", in which Wordsworth speaks about a pre-existing life. The overall theme is that the further you get away from birth the initial gifts, trailing clouds of glory, diminish or darken, much like his loss of the poetic gift. It is a lovely poem, all should read it Steve

I just had a conversation with someone the other day who was raised in a traditional Christian faith of the Trinity. And he expressed himself he had a hard time believing that God the father, the son Jesus Chris, and the holy Ghost were one person. I explained what we believed as far as the nature of the godhead and it lined up with what he felt was right.

When discussing the gospel with other faiths, I love to ask them if they believe in eternal life. I ask them what that means. Then I ask them, "If life is eternal, doesn't that follow that we were somewhere BEFORE we had our mortal earth experience"?

The man who made the 100 million offer is a collector of Church History from 1844 back. He has one of Emma Hymn books, which has a higher price than an original Book of Mormon. He has multiple original Nauvoo Sun Stones. That he was awarded after a lawsuit with the Church. I think he has something like 200,000 artifacts. Interesting guy. He is a Strangite and lives in Independance MO. You should interview him for the show.

I was raised in and live in Cleveland, TN. This is the birthplace and headquarters for the Church of God and Church of God of Prophecy. However, there's more Baptist here than anything. With all that said... since I was a young child (I'm 55yo now) I've had to explain our belief of the Godhead over and over and over...I'm in discussions now with some young men that go to Lee University (the Church of God's equivalent to BYU). If you ever need to exercise your ability to listen, explain, and react to people who are firm in their beliefs and challenge yours... come visit me here in SE Tennessee!! ❤ I LOVED this discussion! Thank you both!!

@@CwicShow I get that. I’m gonna need to get a lot less healthy or a lot more wealthy for that to be a possibility. Those prices are outrageous.
@comocardio9 ай бұрын
About a dollar fifty a serving is outrageous for 50 plus ingredients , plant and organic, replacing most supplements people are taking? Bottled water is 7 dollars at the airport, 2-3dollars at Gas station, smoothies 7-10 dollars, big gulps 2 dollars. Quality is quality, check the number of servings per package and do the math, it is a great value. We also have a referral program to reduce cost. The price of poor quality in any purchase does not compare with real value that gets real results. One’s life and health should be a high priority. Money back guarantee, most products don’t offer that type of use it for a couple of months, consume it all, then decide. Thousands are thrilled with the product.

The the video by Karl Anderson, The Savior in Kirtland, he tells the following: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqusZaWVidBsrdE • Joseph saw the Savior in vision 11 times, more than anywhere else on record. • The Father and the Son appeared 7 times in vision to Joseph Smith. • 23 others saw the Savior that were documented. • Secondary witnesses of over 200 people who didn’t see the Savior, but sat in the room where others saw the Savior and felt the glory

Thanks for this, fascinating info on Kirkland! Your guest was fascinating (and the ultimate Boomer … meant positively 😉) and had a lot of good information. He truly understands Protestant Evangelicalism. His knowledge of the Creeds, the Trinity and (pre-Protestant) church history, however, is just, well, just awful. He can’t even get the name of the “Apostle’s” creed straight. He should learn something about Orthodoxy and also about (christian) church history. Christian history pre-dates Luther by 1500 years and Catholics by a 1000. Anyone LDS who researches Orthodoxy will find it strangely foreign but also strangely familiar. Thanks again for your amazing channel, Greg!

Just a freelance guest. Certainly not a historian on pre-Protestant events specifically, just a generalist on the Restoration , and a fierce advocate of spiritual gifts in our time, power in the Priesthood, and fr some reason fortunate to assist in small ways in some of the latter day fundraising efforts. Now very involved with our Evangelical Christian brothers and sisters . The ones I deal with, are extraordinary examples in many ways .
