Glad you got it, I was gonna get it until he found the damaged fiberglass on the fuse. I was fine with painting the wings but I didnt want to get into to fiberglass. Looks like your going to make a nice bird out of it! 👍🏻

@@hangar88 yeah hate it when work stands in the way of flying :) By the way any weak points to look for? My kit is supposed to be a new batch, let’s see what will arrive. I am both excited and a bit worried by the kit quality.

The overall arf was fantastic in my eyes. Obviously every manufacturer has their pros and cons. The wings aside from not being glassed were some of the best wings I've seen with an ARF. I would have liked to see a thicker composite fuselage but not terrible. The inside formers are thin as well which if anything this is where I will reinforce. I just bought a Hanger 9 p-51 60cc and the wing tubes wouldn't fit into the center section or the wings . The tube in the wing and center section wasn't lined up with the last wing spar hole during gluing. also, the landing great doors didn't fit level up to the wing I had to sand the wings wood to lower the doors. Even looking into the fuselage , the glue is piss poorly applied. Horizon H has the landing gear backordered and no one else is selling landing gear for it. Horizon H don't specify that the 5.5 " spinner doesn't come with the plane but it once did. Horizon wants 200.00 for the plastic spinner , it is discontinued now maybe cause people complained. Build quality is piss poor , I would buy another plane in my opinion.

You must have gotten a special one, the CY kit I got was garbage.

Actually mine was damaged. Got it as an open box. Besides the fuse being a little light everything else was pretty decent. Now I have done alot of modifications to the bird.

@@AphexTwinII yeah that's tough, I thought the Hangar 9 p47 20cc was well built. Mine took a few hard landings and tumbles (my fault) and the frame held up well. The covering was nice also. Overall you are right with alot of others. They seem to ask have there quirks

What prop did you find works best for the GP 61? And what rpm are you turning? I’m using the same engine but on the CY P-51 . Also sanding the supplied hinge points three of them came apart! The rivets are way too small, replace all of them.

I'm going to run a Falcon 22 x 10 warbird prop. It performs really well on the GP61. I can't remember what RPMs I was getting, but if my memory serves me right, I was in the mid-7000s. There are very few pieces of the stovk hardware that I'll be using. As far as hinges, I'm going with Robart pin hinges.

@@hangar88 I just tacked a XOAR WW II 24/10 @ 6500 . However I would like to try the XOAR wood 23/8. My DLE 61 loves that prop. I think I have a cooling problem or a fuel tank hight although that last one should not have been a problem.
