What really gets me is V talking like an old lady because two years passed. "I shoulda feared the passing of all the things I knew". Fucking, really? It's not like you hit your eighties. The only truth in this universe is change- For better or worse all things must change and adapt or they die out. I understand it's a shock- One hell of a shock really. Starting over again is hard. But honestly, I can't see this future being worse than the likely one you had trying to "be a legend". Especially since all "legends" in this series die horribly, painfully, and alone- if they are lucky, the unlucky ones being party to killing shittons of innocents (like Johnny was.) And if Vic's the only one who gives a fuck after you spent two years in a coma, how much did the others really care in the first place? I don't expect Love Interest to coming flocking back or to have not moved on, but they could have at least *tried* to contact you.

the best ending in the game is still storming Arasaka with Johnny and giving Johnny your body. sure, your friend's feelings might be hurt but everyone ends up staying alive. Even V gets to live on by becoming one with alt (whatever the fuck that means). It also leaves the possibility of V coming back since the mystery of souls is a big part of the franchise and the fate of V's soul would still be up for interpretation.

The title of the DLC fits perfectly with the main story ending. Phantom Liberty : you end up being free of Johnny and your imminent death, but you end up with no one left and you start from scratch as a «face in the crowd». So is it really freedom or just the phantom of it and at what cost.

@@grief6052 You may be right, but in the epilogue, you clearly see that V obtains his freedom to live a healthy life, but she/he ends up losing a lot of other attributes that once offered him freedom but in another way. For exemple his/her chrome : V cannot even defend himself/herself like before. I think in the long run, as you said, V might live a different life, but life nonetheless. The way they presented the ending is somewhat overwhelming after playing 100+ hours with a netrunner beast that could kill anyone in seconds. Perfect ending in my opinion cuz I honestly thought that everything was gonna be all right and everyone was to be happy. CDPR got me there.

In the Tower ending credit, Rogue did said that V did "died" a legend, because during the time spent in coma, people thought V was dead, but I'm pretty sure V have done a lot of impressive things before reaching that point including raiding Arasaka, do gigs for fixer, and taking down Hasen. The Tower ending is just a metaphorical rebirth, people remember old V, but not recognizing the new V. So in a way, that ending is a third option that is arguably a bit of both.

Furthermore, the heist mission at the space casino for Mr. Blue Eyes opens up the possibility of a cure. It could also become a cornerstone for the second part of Cyberpunk. In theory, we might even meet Songbird on the moon. The codename for the second part of Cyberpunk is "ORION," which is associated with space.

Call me crazy, but ever since I started playing cyberpunk, and after seeing that particular ending. I came up with a theory. What if cyberpunk and mass effect are tied together. I don't know if you ever played the mass effect trilogy. But there's a backstory you can choose, it's called Earth Born. It mentions that Shepard comes from a city on earth that sounds very similar to Night City. What if Commander Shepard is V's descendant. Maybe great, great grandson or granddaughter. Default female Shepard sort of resembles default female V, and default male Shepard sort of resembles default male V. Mass Effect does have a lot of the same stuff as cyberpunk, just much more advanced.

Yeah, my preferred ending tbh, not just because I sympathize with Song as a character, but what it means for her. Does it matter that she wasn't completely honest with V about the neural matrix? Sure, it kinda hurts, but at that point the matrix is her only chance of getting a "second chance" as she called it. She can't storm Arasaka, she has no access to Mikoshi, or Alt. V has all those options, so it made sense to me to free her life from NUSA, and Meyers specifically. To put it as simply as possible, our girl got tired of being used by a corp (in this case, by Myers) to access beyond blackwall for personal gain (game makes sure to mention it multiple times), to Song's own deterriment. That kind of desperation is understandable, and familiar to V. So, to me, it only made sense to help Song possibly get her life back.

Tower ending hit me so hard. Reminded me of the time I went back to my town after army. I was expecting everyone would be excited to see me after long time, but they all had their life going on.Some acted like Judy, some like Kerry. When we got together, half the time I couldn't keep up with conversation and felt out of place. I expected party every day, but it was just one night. I was sort of a fling for a night of their daily life and they had to return to it. I felt like a complete tourist and the town didn't feel like 'my' town any more. I was walking the street, and felt so out of place among all the strangers, and just walked aimlessly feeling hollow.

I broke free from that life and managed to get everything i wished for by working hard, i would have never made it this far if i would i stayed home and kept the same friends. yeah, you can easily have hundreds of thousands of eurodollars in the bank. Reasonable to assume that the operation and recovery will take at least a few months. I also assume V is intelligent enough to pack up his things, cancel his leases, sell his vehicles, weapons. Do you even need much chrome to be a netrunner. I assume aldecados would still be willing to take you in. Being without chrome doesn't mean being stupid. You still have your knowledge and skills. Even a 'stupid' body focused V could go the coach fred route, teaching kids to fight. Chrome or not, V could have just shot those two guys in the face, just as you do in the first mission in the game. You might also have an in with Netwatch. The president of the NUSA literally owes you. Meyers is president, yet she has almost no chrome. But CDPR has never been one for beeing reasonable in cyberpunk. The ending where you save Song Mi was the most satisfying morally, but the ending with the chimera bot sequence was so fun, beautiful, and exciting to play. I don’t play a lot of horror, so I was genuinely on the edge of my seat. The boss fight with Hansen was fun, and having a “villain” in Songbird that you know well is way more engaging than fighting the swarms of NUSA agents.

I think the best ending to Phantom Liberty is helping Somi get on the shuttle and escaping it all , and V goes to Arizona with the Aldecados and there love interest and lives out the rest of there life in relative peace. The only thing that would have made the Somi ending better is if her and V Hugged/Kissed , and you had a boss battle with Reed Although he will miss the sheer joy of slaughtering Scavs, the most blatantly evil people in the game

Both the Panam and Reaper endings are the best imo. The latter, especially. I have a hard time accepting the others. It just feels wrong. As for the DLC, the best ending is the "shoot Reed" ending, I think. Alex is still alive (right ?), So Mi gets another chance at life and is now free, my V neither betray Johnny nor his principles, and Solomon Reed is granted something through death : peace and solace, something he didn't know he needed, or simply didn't accept. The latter was a puppet for Myers and the NUSA, after all, bound to betray and hurt So Mi, his pupil, bound to become an empty shell (which he probably has been for the last 7 years). That's why I think the best thing you can do for him given the endings is to save Songbird and put an end to his life - only suffering awaits him otherwise. I wish we could get an actual good ending in which V lives, but I guess it's just how things work in Night City.

Man called all my friends and saw that life was like that for them moving on the only one who got a happy ending was judy which is great but was it really worth it? Die as a legend with your friends at your side or continue living but your old life is over and no one knows you anymore. I think the secret ending as an afterlife legend is best

Because that's not the true ending. V essentially 'dies' with the chip removed. Everything that made V special is stripped away. All of their friends either disdain them or just leave. It's not just being a normal person, every single connection is gone. That's actually the bad ending IMO. The true ending is letting So Mi leave on the shuttle. Sure, she lied to us and everyone else, but she has that same survival energy and circumstances that V has. Allowing someone in a similar situation to live is so much better. And it's not even a nebulous thing. She does end up living. A few days after sending her on the shuttle, you get a message from So Mi who has sent you a package from the moon with a super slick cyberware to use as thanks for saving her. Now you just need to do the same for yourself in the "canon" ending with the Aldecados. (Canon cause everyone considers it to be that)

I gave songbird to Reed and ended up with new main ending, This was the most emotionally intense product (whether its games, movies, songs, etc.) Ive experienced in a while, even more than the original endings. I run all day making all kinds of a mess in the city without feeling any remorse but then I complete the story and sit there sad on my chair, contemplating about everything and establish the references to the real life, especially from the part when I wake up from the coma and reach out to the old friends just to see that there's nothing worth reaching for and the last few frames of the blending in the crowd, hopelessly forced to waste the rest of the lifetime I desired so much being nothing like myself, just escalated all the feelings. This was distressing to say the least.

way i did my run was escape with songbird instead of hacking her then getting to the train and calling reed post finding out the truth and handing her over with the deal of saving V had to wait 2 ingame days for the call and seeing the true ending hurt more when you find out that Judy moved on especially with my netrunner female v though i reloaded the save because my 1st ending was the let songbird board the shuttle which doesn't result in a good ending but it's not the bad ending hell i only got the 2 endings for the songbird route so i'll need to test the reed route to see the true bad ending

I was expecting V to say goodbye to Misty and then get back to Delamain and Del asking "Where to next?" and V saying some port or terminal implying she leaves the city. It was disappointing when she walked into the crowd in NC, it should at least given us the chance to decide what to do at our last option. The whole cinematic revolves around the fact that V has nothing else in the city, so moving on and starting somewhere new is all that is left. Even a third option of going back to Reed and working in the FIA in Langley could be cool.

If I'm being completely honest, "The Tower" ending here is up there with "The Devil" in terms of "worst" ending outcomes for V. No chrome, no Johnny, River can't bear talking to you, you can't even reach Panam and even if you could Mitch says she wouldn't wanna talk anyway, Kerry can't make time for you, Judy's married and basically asks you to stay away, if you romanced anyone you get your heart broken, you've got no friends but Vik left and he ends up getting sent to Frisco anyway, even Misty is leaving NC for Poland. Shit you never even get to zero Smasher. S'not even bittersweet, s'just bitter really. I'll give it to CDPR, the game drives it's theme of "don't trust Corps or the Gov" to a honed edge. Both endings where you trust an organization, whether it be Arasaka or the FIA, V gets dealt the shortest hand possible. Makes you realize that even though he can be a prickly bastard, Johnny was right all along. The "True" Cyberpunk ending remains "The Star" as at least that has the hope of turning out ok for everyone. Arizona is where the Technomancers were last spotted and lore-wise they're as close as you can get to literal Techno-wizards, so maybe they can actually help V. Technically overall its a "you decide" ending cause you could either say they find help for V and V lives, or at least V dies happy with the Aldecaldos, cause it's left entirely up in the air.

Make sense Tower and Devil endings look like twins, when you count how many sacrifices they require and how much it mess up V's life. After all, V sells out to giant and morally bankrupt superpower in both of them, and gets royally fucked by both of them. After seeing what Alt and Blackwall can do and how inconsequential V's relationships, since everyone but forget them after just couple years, the best ending for them is to embrace singularity an join Alt in cyberspace. In this case, if it's all doomed anyway and was never worth fighting for, who cares if you screwed the world/people over? It’s between the endings “Send Songbird to the Stars” and Killing her in the core that I would choose from. Sending her to the stars saves her, but in the end she still betrayed you and lied to you for her own gain. But when she’s in the core and her saying she wants to die makes the most sense to me. Her entire life she was used, and who’s to say those on the moon won’t take control again. She knew herself she was to dangerous, and us killing her is that choice she strived so long for. She gets away from it all without worry, and Reed must learn from his mistakes, especially with losing Alex and So Mi. Most importantly Myers gets nothing, and can never use So Mi again.

On my first run, I sided with So Mi and truly wanted to help her. Then when we finally boarded the train, she admitted that she had lied all along. I handed her in to Reed because of that. She betrayed me - simple as. On my second run, I went back to a save where I was on the “Firestarter” quest. This time I went with Reed’s path. At the end of the “Somewhat Damaged” quest, seeing tidbits of her past, you come to understand her, in a way. I do agree with fulfilling her request to die in the core, though. She had suffered enough. Despite her being duplicitous, I didn’t want to deny her wish to die, and to end her pain. I can sympathise with her at least on that level. Like you said, she would have just ended up being controlled whether it be by Myers or whoever/whatever is up on that moon.

The moment I knew she will be betraying me (yes I spoil my own stories, we exist), I made it my mission to make her suffer the most. So I not only betrayed her in the stadium, I also did not grant her the death she was asking for in the core knowing full well that FIA will do to her. Also, I constantly chose the passive aggressive dialogs and pinned the blame on her for everything. It felt really great. :) I am sad at the end about Panam leaving me though, so I am planning to do a 2nd run where I do everything the same way, except I don't take the cure and storm Saka tower with JS.

What a wild ride of emotions this dlc is. And now i see that my bittersweet option of sending SoMi to the moon was by far the best one in my opinion. I knew from mid way it's a one seat ride, the voice actress for SoMi did phenomenal. Could hear and feel in her voice she s hiding something, hopeful yet regretful. And i understood her choice and was empathetic with her situation, trapped in a government's spider web, where that b`tch of Myers was the poisonous spider. Towards the end i realized, i might not get a chance to save myself but i ll do whatever it takes to save her. And even tho i was skeptic at start, since the ending doesnt reveal much. I was happy when i got a msg from her and found a gift at her special spot. Actually made me smile to know she s alive and free. I really wished there was a way to save both SoMi and Reed and also be free from gov. That man was so damn troubled, with his soul swollen by guilt... And in a way with this ending, Reed got his rest. at least that s how i prefer to see it, and his wish for So Mi to be safe was fulfilled. Ps: for the new ending... no rocking way i would choose to be an NPC in NC. I would rather live just a few more days and soar the skies and dash over buildings making a difference and a name, than leave a long life with no impact and fearing a dark alley. One where you simply choose to not use soul killer and let both personalities merge. It's not like you're getting a 100% good ending. You'll be a different person which means you'll be very likely to lose all of your friends/romances. The whole goofy argument about it "not being cyberpunk" if it has a "happy ending" makes no sense. Not when you have Panam's ending literally being a borderline "happy ending" Saul is the only "meaningful" causality you suffer. You likely still get legend status for busting into arasaka tower, fucking up their shit and surviving. Johnny gets to "survive" with alt. He gets his 2 last dying wishes fulfilled. You literally get to drive off into the sunset with your friends and family with the hope of finding a cure. The only "decent" character to get fucked in this ending is takemura. And even then, you can easily "avoid" this if you leave him to die in the raid. It's clear the devs were biased af towards this ending. There's absolutely no reason to not add an ending like the one OP mentioned "because it's cyberpunk".

Sending So Mi to the moon + Aldecaldos ending is how I wrote my ideal V's story just because of the huge possibility of V coming out with the best outcomes. Considering that we know So Mi must've been alive and well after getting to the moon, I'd like to think she'd feel heavily indebted to V for still saving her even after telling V the truth and possibly return the favor by looking into ways to cure V. At the beginning of the Aldecaldos ending there's a bird that approached V briefly before flying away which probably doesn't mean anything but I'd like to believe that's foreshadowing V with future encounter with So Mi again in their travels with the Aldecaldos to look for a way to fix V. (Probably also why Aldecaldos ending works best since you get to write whatever happens in the next 6 months or so coz nothing past what we see in the game is set in stone. Anything to get you to sleep better at night after completing this gem ;_;)

So no one happy, or not completely. The ending just proved to me that there is a cure. So I'll be looking for a way with Panam and Aldecado. Let Johnny be with Alt at least.

Seems like they changed the endings, I read the dialogue leaks a year ago when Cdpr accidentally released the dialogue files for phantom liberty into in game files. The main ending was that songbird sacrificed herself for V in the black wall but before she died she gave him a chip that V would activate during the devil ending, V would activate the chip during the surgery and would have lived but with the down side of Johnny again being erased & V losing all his memories of who he/she were, There was even a scene where you can talk to Johnny while V is having the surgery being done. Wonder why they changed the main base ending for phantom liberty

Bitterness I think. They didn't get to do their second and planned to be final DLC, which likely would have enabled the 'good' or 'best' ending to the story. So they defacto took it out in their writing by making the new ending as bitter as they could. Either way, they made their new ending bitter in a manner that required twisting the world and characters into a pretzel to enable. It is simply bad writing, no matter the reason for it.

I always say, the ending you get making decisions in the heat of the moment in your first playthrough is the realist one ~for you~ and your personal values. That blackwall ending was intense, completely unexpected power to have. Had no doubt about sending her off to the moon after that, even after she confessed her deception about the AI matrix beig one-use.

CP2077 does have a happy ending, but it doesn't just flat-out show us. This game gives us a very possible good ending, but we just need to have hope and trust in the friends we made along the way. Leaving it to our imagination is much more satisfying, and the possibilities are there.

I think it’s really cool that the two most popular songs for this game kind of represent the most popular endings, like the johnny taking V’s body, the nomad ending and V getting a cure all match with the song never fade away. The don’t fear the reaper ending , my favorite ending is so cleverly hinted at in the lyrics of chippin’ in where it says “Suits run when i come undone , cant kill me im zero and one , add justice to the people’s math , blaze your way down the rebel path” suits cuz arasaka, zero and one cuz of v’s bullet to the brain and resurrection almost like death is 0-1 against V , and rebel path is the song that plays as soon as you walk through arasaka’s front door.

That Vik is now a corporate slave, and he's clearly unhappy about it yet he can't do anything, you can tell from his call to V in the ending credits that in a way, he's also now feeling lonely and isolated without Misty and his regular clients aroun. As much as he's trying to cheer V up, he's also seeking V's company. What is probably worse is that regardless of the ending V chooses, this will likely happen happen to Vik sooner or later, even in the good endings where V leaves NC.

gonna make a long post but it contains heavy spoilers and maybe some wrong info, here goes: 1- V saves somi but V has to kill reed. V then launches somi to the moon and somi survives the surgery 2- V kills somi at her request, reed blames V for everything 3- V saves somi (ignoring her own request to kill her) and somi becomes a puppet for myers again in case of 1and 2- V will probably die to the relic along with johnny, in 3- V lives, they take the relic out and destroy johnny in the process but V is in coma for 2 years endings for when V survives as female AND as male (wish there were different ones, maybe there are?) 1)judy doesn't wait for female V, moves to pittsburg and gets married (can't really blame judy, 2 years of no contact from V, probably assumed her dead). this is really sad for V because from V's pov 2 years in coma are like 2 minutes she was out the whole time i wish there was a case where judy fell into deep depression and lives alone and secluded and when V comes out of coma they reunite and live happily ever after, in all of cyberpunk and in my opinion V and judy were the perfect match. they could have made it so sweet too, reunite somewhere with the biggest heart warming hug and some good old cheesy romance dialogue 2)panam doesn't wait for male V either and V tries to contact panam but panam never gets back to her and mitch says it's best that V leaves panam alone. it's not revealed if panam is in a relationship or not or where she is but this is also a sad ending for both V and panam. this romance wasn't as good for me as the above but it also would have been nice if they reunited 3)viktor is only one who V reunites with and tries to help V after the 2 years go by but he cannot 4)misty meets up with V telling and misty will leave NC and at least both get some sort of closure overall it's a shitty ending for V in all cases. V becomes a random npc with no money no power no more ability to ever use cyberware and probably has to live a meaningless life in NC but perhaps even as the average joe, fate might deal V one last good hand and maybe V meets somebody and is content with life given all the circumstances and people she lost. johnny's demise was also sad but expected i guess since there was no scenario in which both V and johhny can survive. did johnny redeem himself, was he helpful more than not to V - i think so, he at least got some closure and even tho i have mixed feelings i think he remained true to himself til the end

V is weak because of the 2 year coma. With training and physical therapy he can become strong enough to defend himself. You can complete the game without any implants. So it is possible for V to still be a merc. Though I think in game V said that he can't use stimulants or something. So maybe he can't use healing items which would make merc life deadly. Though a sniper could decrease his chances of getting injured. Still though it is probably too dangerous. But V could still easily become a fixer. V still has connections in the afterlife and throughout night city. V has the money and connections to get jobs from clients and to hire mercenaries. Also technically how close is V in game to his friends he made in game? For V he would have known them for a month max. Because Victor said that he has a few months to live. Just because he lost his friends doesn't mean that he can't recover. Also the only friends that completely ditched V is River and Panam. The others are still open to talking with V.

@@drlukas4242 It's heavily implied that upon starting the game you have some basic combat implants that are just not mentioned in the cyberware screen because they form the basics of V's character. It's why you can use clearly inhuman abilities (ie air dashing) just by upgrading perks. Even beyond that, you can fight at the beginning because the gameplay requires it. In the game's lore, somebody with no combat cyberware basically never stands a chance against anyone who does, regardless of training. It's implied and indirectly mentioned in most of the game, plus the original tabletop game, and clear in the Edgerunners show.

The best ending for me is to attack Arasaka alone, V and Johnny The ending is even better if you are not dating anyone, which would make sense to avoid this knowing that you could die in a short time and would hurt someone. Combining this with sending So Mi into space, it turns into a great ending, because looking at V's main objective, which was to become a legend, this comes true, in addition to giving So Mi freedom, which was her dream, Johnny also wins because he takes revenge on Arasaka and joins what's left of Alt.

But I'll remind everyone that Morgan Blackhand absolutely terrorized Adam Smasher with nothing more than a cyberarm, a sandy, and a few other mods that weren't doing too much (optics and such). V still has all of their skills and experience, just gotta use a few tricks and some finesse.

If I understand the problem is their neurons not being up to withstanding the communication between cyberware and their body. If what we'll call *active* cyberware is the problem, then passive stuff like sub-dermal armor that doesn't need any communication should be fine. If V could at least run stuff like that, then skill is the only requirement and the little bit they can run is enough to tilt the playing field. Even if there is no cyberware at all, there are still ways to make up the deficit. A lot of tech in the Cyberpunk universe that didn't make the game

For neurons although neurogenesis is a thing it would likely take a long time. Also, if they can perform such an invasive surgery, there are likely methods to speed up recovery in that area as well. Again there are a lot of possibilities, but V would be starting from even below zero.

​@@MK-jz6gmthere are thousands of non modded prople (in night city) living their life. I think the job offer sounds awesome too. Why is there a need to be a killing machine or mercenary? V wanted his/her life back. And in this ending everyone kinda has a good life moving on so there is a lot of win in being normal. Its bittersweet and also quite sad tho. Thinking about the future, I see this as the most positive ending, ironically. Its not like V lived long after the nomad ending :/

Beyond the Blackwall is absolutely terrifying and exciting all At the same time. To think Alt was able to control the AI’s maintain her form is incredible.

saving somi and taking her to the shuttle for me is the only real ending. It makes one think that we don't always have to feel we are at the center, but it is okay to have "respect" for others' successes, to be proud even of those who unlike us "made it"! Jhonny may be a real jerk, but inside every one of his jokes is some truth about the world.

I agree. I knew there was a possibility that So Mi would probably be the one who ends up getting the cure, whether she takes it and runs or finds out it's a one-time use only. But I recognized that she needed it more than V. All she wanted was to survive and be free of the web that Myers had her trapped in. Going to the moon was So Mi's only option and I felt like Reed was still letting himself be caught up in Myers' web. Not to mention the fact he just blatantly disrespects So Mi's wishes. He cared about her and wanted her alive, but even if it meant she had to suffer. All in all, I believe Phantom Liberty was So Mi's story, not V's. And I'm okay with that.

I don’t understand not killing songbird. She lies and endangers other people constantly, and then the cutscene where she’s relieving memories in her apartment cements her as a bad person even back then. Meanwhile Reed has been pretty forthright and truthful the whole time, regardless of whatever Myers objectives are (that don’t end up getting filled anyway whenever you kill songbird).

Yeah she was a bit of a bitch but myers by extension reed turned her into what she became Johnny said it best she had become half songbird and half a zombie AI the Ai was taking control of her erasing her memories she was never in control of her own life honestly killing her is the best move but not because of what she did but to finally give her the freedom she wanted

Damn, Yk thinking this was the best ending. In reality it isnt, V’s back at square one again but has no friends anymore, no Judy, panam, river, Johnny, etc. nobody and 2 years of V’s life wasted, I think V isnt even gonna die of old age because he/she has no chrome to last in the city. Sad ending in my opinion

Thats the thing about the passage of time and what everyone fears. If you don't keep up (intentionally) or can't keep up with others, they move on and leave you behind. Wish we lived in a world where that didn't happen, might be playing out in a video game ending here, but it plays out everyday IRL.

watching that ending, damn. i think this one is my favorite now. it made me hopeful in a strange roundabout way. V may be powerless, and now has a first-hand accout of watching things that we thought would endure forever (viktor and the rest) changing, but it didn't diminish her in my eyes. it elevated everyone else. it made me wonder about the stories of those "faces in the crowd," and wonder about what she will do next. i didn't see her as useless or powerless now. sure she lost chrome, but not everyone had chrome in NC. Was a sad thing with Johnny, no avoiding that, but some of the best endings have that nuanced and complicated feeling. V was already a legend, now she can be something better: anything. For me that ending didn't say "don't be a face in the crowd," it said ""every face in that crowd is more important than you think."

There's no "good" ending in this game. In this one V just becomes some NPC in the crowd probably end up dead in some alley after another encounter with random thugs like in this ending. The game HEAVILY implies it with this ending. Name one merc that actually achieved something in NC without the proper chrome, I'll wait.

​​@@SnakeHelahJohny Silverhand. He had no chrome. His arm is only a prothesis. After Dex shoots V, the part where The Spider helps him to send the data thru the network with a little gadget. Even during some replies, he decided not to chrome up, because he hated the idea to lose his soul (ironically). For him chroming up means to become a puppet of the corpos.

It's the most hopeful ending by far. V is alive, free of the relic and has an opportunity to start a new life working with Reed. It's up to them to leave NC and make something of themself. It's bittersweet, but it's the timeline where V has a chance to live a full life.

Plus it's all depends on who your V was. Like, my V was helping people and tried not to harm people. So her job was't just a way to earn money. She wanted to change something by small deeds, it's kinda opposite Johnny's methods but that's the reason they became friends (and not only friednd if CDPR could allowed it). And NPC-ending take literally everything from her.

I took the "quiet life" ending with Panam my last (only) run through the original. Its most in line with what I'd do IRL. I played a much meaner, greedier character this time around so I find it great that after betraying Reed out of self interest, betraying songbird at the revelation then telling Johnny to go F himself because I don't owe him anything, I find myself incapable of the greatness I screwed everyone else to achieve. A wonderful tragedy.

Man, I’ve played these game 3-4 on all different consoles. This dlc touched my soul, it’s 4am and I forced myself to finish it. ( coma ending) and tears are streaming down my face. The reality that nothing lasts forever. Life moves on with you in it or not. I shed a tear for you V, you survived but at what cost. We’ve come a long way, we learnt, we overcame, we survived. On to the next one V, on to the next one…

Amazing. They made the ending in which V survives the MOST sad, unpleasant and bitter. Even "Devil" feels better - you know that most likely one day V will be restored in a new body as Arasaka's mercenary, and will have a chance to turn everything around again. And this... this is just crushed, deprived of all loved ones, helpless and V. cursed.
