Hello, I imagine that you bought two RB1290 batteries and not RB1290X2, which has me somewhat confused since the manual says that those are the ones needed haha, I hope my doubt is understood with Google Translate xd

I have found that unpluging the USB cable from the UPS side then plug back in works. Other things to try. Reboot PC, try a different USB port.

Well one obvious way is when the battery capacity bars start dropping. The other way is if you start having PC crashes or blue screens at random. Good thing is to just keep them replaced every 3-5 yrs. You could pull them out and load test them if you really wanted to also.

at costco a new unit costs like $150. two batteries cost like $100.. ill just be buying a new unit.. and return the old one.
