yknow, something i've just realised when coming back to this video is that mecha sonic's attacks, even in his super form, are based on sonic's original abilities, he was much more of a mimic than metal sonic in the combat sense at least his 3 different jump attacks are jumping into the air then zooming across the screen (hyper sonic's air dash) jumping and bouncing high into the air (bubble shield) jumping and rolling across the ground (drop dash) and when he's in his super form, he shoots rings at you... yknow, like the cut ability sonic has in this prototype

@@sinnythefennec69 it's about two FBI agents who get assigned to paranormal cases that the government doesn't want everyone to find out about. one is a hardcore believer in aliens and ghosts and stuff, while the other is skeptical of everything until the plot of the episode inevitably proves the existence of whatever paranormal thing is happening. some of the episode plots mirror popular films of the time like groundhog day, and some are almost like they're from SCP. it's a very good show, go watch it.

Hey, I have no idea if this bug is well known or not, but if you leave Sonic 3 long enough to make the demo begin, then press start to go back to the title screen while Sonic is still in super form, then start the game as Tails, you can break boulders that would normally be broken by spindashes just by walking into them. I don't find this very useful, and it doesn't work when locked on to S&K, but it's there.

Here's a secret I've barely seen anyone talk about or show off: By playing Sonic 3 Alone and entering the Gumball Machine bonus stage, hold down the Jump button to jump as soon as you enter it. If you have 50 rings or more, you'll transform into Super Sonic within the bonus stage.

Okay so hear me out; What if they brought back Fang as a playable character and he had the same ring throwing mechanics from the Sonic 3 beta, just reskinned to fit him better. The ring changed to a cork and the recoil from firing it out the pop gun sends him back a little bit.

By the way, if you go into the sound test/level select in the build found by drx, the level icons are the same used in Sonic 2, in the same order of each zone. I'm assuming Sonic 3 was built off of the final Sonic 2 build and remade into what we define Sonic 3 today, and probably the same for Sonic 2 and 1. Thought that was a neat little detail to point out.

27:55 I like this idea of Tails having scripted sequences like that. Imagine playing Sonic 3 but Tails is fully aware of secret areas and higher paths in the level, so he offers to take you to them at his own volition. That'd be cool. Would probably impact that feeling of independent exploration for the player in later playthroughs though, so they did the right thing keeping Tails just a basic follower.
