eSIM is one of the new technologies that has started gaining traction as various telecom operators such as Airtel and Vodafone have started providing people with the option to go for one. However, the new trend is also prone to fraudulent activities that can steal your money.
To stay safe from such online scams, you must stop believing the fraudulent messages they receive. If anyone fishy calls you asking for your information to update your KYC, DO NOT provide any information to the person. Instead, call the actual customer care number and ensure your phone number is safe. Additionally, refrain from sharing your banking details with anyone, be it via a Google form or someone over a call.
If you have fallen prey to an eSIM fraud, immediately contact the customer care to stop the eSIM activation process.

commendable initiative. what I observed here is that there's a lag on part of the operator too. The message that a customer sends with his e mail id on it should be thoroughly checked with such a system that is able to read whether or not the customer has sent his email id only and not someone else's. But again, I don't know how the system works but what I mentioned is doable and can easily reduce the occurrence of the time.

Actually there are several steps. First of all email ID sent on the SMS must be registered with the mobile operator or the request will be denied. So sending any other email from the scammer won’t work. Then you have to reply confirming eSIM request. Then you get a call on your phone to confirm this. Then you get emails and have to scan the QR code. After the swap, SMS services are suspended for 24 hours. So this is not as easy as the video shows. In addition even if the scammer gets your eSIM, they won’t know which banks you bank with and the account numbers or your passwords. So it won’t be easy for them to login as you and do transactions. Most likely this happens with screen sharing or installation of some spy app.

Thank you. 1.To protect victims please start eSIM upgradation process only through provider's servers center with physically attend as new SIM/Connection process. 2. Or please start a system to stop receiving any sms in 36 or 48 hours after upgrading to eSIM. Fraud person nighter can't set any UPI nor any banking transaction wit OTP. So victim can get a chance to contact service provider to block that number after stopped of his own physical SIM.
