@@robp3431statistically, EV owners spend the least on repairs and maintenance. A big part of why repairs are expensive when they do happen is because they're still being ramped up in production quickly and lots of changes are constantly being made, so there isn't the efficiency of scale yet. When there are millions of CTs on the road and they've refined it to the point they're not maijg huge changes month by month and the 3rd party parts are available then it will get as cheap or cheaper than ICE vehicles to fix (fewer things to break).

subjective feelings are OK. But timing of a lap/stint, including the raptor, would have given a more objective comparison of the trucks' capabilities. Also, should specify what versions of the trucks are there, as there is more than one spec
@MountainPassPerformance4 ай бұрын
We used the speeds over the jump as well as the speeds through the whoops/g-out as a fair benchmark. The Rivian and Cybertruck both did the jump at 60-61km/h. Scotty doesn't go faster than 62-64km/h with his Raptor on the jump, and the Raptor is bottoming quite hard at that speed. Through the whoops the Raptor is able to go around ~5-8km/h faster with the same bottoming loads - but as you can see from the first clip in the video it's very violent and sends the truck rolling sideways as it bounces through the air. The Cybertruck was the smoothest but both the Cybertruck and Rivian bottom out harder and earlier in the largest compression compared to the Raptor.

Tesla and Rivian should take note of the damage the trucks experienced in this video. It would be nice for both of these trucks to be even tougher in their future iterations. A good next test would be to see how these trucks compare in slow speed rock crawling.
