Cycle Day 9 Ovulation Test | TTC with Letrozole👶

TTC with our 8th round of fertility treatment using Letrozole!!! We will not be doing an IUI this time around....or for a second cycle if we need it. This time around our letrozole dosage was 5 mg for 5 days. I am supposed to start ovulation predictor kits on day 10 but I felt like maybe I needed to try on cycle day 9. So - here we are taking an OPK and sharing the symptoms of the fertility meds because it's been....interesting. haha.

I’ve been using the easy @ home OPKs as well! I find they’re the easiest to read cheapies in my opinion, they give a pretty clear result. For some reason the clear blue digital OPKs don’t work for me🤷🏽‍♀️ After my miscarriage I started saving them in a notebook to do line progression comparisons and I feel like that really helps get an accurate peak ovulation confirmation since you can clearly make out the positive among all the negatives. Also from my experience and through research I have found that you get the EWCM a couple days before you ovulate! So just keep testing! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for y’all. I found your channel after my miscarriage and I just love your videos, I feel like you and Brian and my husband and I would be good friends in real life, your personalities are great and you remind me of us haha. And don’t even get me started on how cute Raury is😍 You’re in my prayers and I can’t wait to see y’all get your 🌈 ❤️

Ashley Millet I was just goin to comment the same thing! If i were to track again, I think I would use the cheapies, and then if I thought the line was dark enough use a clear blue one to make sure. There’s also an app called Premom that helps determine your surge. Also, Alex brought up such a good point in her video about not using first morning urine which I always did! 😊

Of course we are all different but I was more stressed and anxious when we did the ultrasounds - I skipped 4 mos of treatment because I needed a break! Month after month of meds, follicle tracking, ovulation tests, blood work, too much (and yes there is too much) baby dancing, and just all of it! I think your approach and attitude is great! I hope the Ovulation kits work better for you then me - I don’t ovulate on my own hardly ever so they were kind of a waste in my case, unfortunately:/ Happy vibes to you guys! 🤗

I feel like Letrozole made me ovulate early this cycle. My u/s showed I was supposed to trigger on Saturday and ended up ovulating early before the trigger time. I wasn't sure but I still did the shot (and basically wasted $100). I randomly took a cheapie and found out. IUI was Sunday. When that second line is as dark as the other, you're ready to go! Hey.... my husband and I started trying for a baby last September. We used the strip line ovulation tests but I could not figure them out and they were driving me insane. I then switched in January to the clear blue digital ovulation tests that sync into the phone app and it records your cycle and tells you when to test. I know they are more expensive but I think they are worth it. If your using them the best time is too test your first morning urine. We fell pregnant in February but unfortunately lost that pregnancy at 5 weeks, tested using the clear blue again and fell pregnant in the next cycle. We are now 8.5 weeks pregnant. The circle ⭕️ is negative the flashing smiley face is that your in high fertility and getting ready to reach your peak, and the smiley that doesn’t flash is your peak. As soon as you get the peak sign your going to ovulate within 24 - 48 hours and you do not need to test again in that cycle. I just loved this concept as it’s straight to the point and you don’t have to sit their and analyse how dark the lines are and what do they mean. Clear blue digital is awesome! Don’t be afraid to spend the money. Easy at home is good too but it takes about 5 minutes to see a real result and you have to analyze it. Do yourself a favor, you’ve been through so much. Splurge on those OPKs and don’t risk it. I’m using the one that detects estrogen then the LH surge. But I’m not changing anything this cycle. Rainbow babies for all in 2019.

The cheapies are awesome! You are able to watch your surge as the days progress. What I always did was test with those 3 times a day because the window with PCOS could be 12 hours or so. The test line needs to be either AS dark or darker than the control line. When you test at least twice daily you can really watch and keep track as the surge starts.

Clear blue is too expensive and you have to do two opks every day. Keep on using the cheap ones. The best time to opk is between 12 and 18 PM. The LH surge is for only a few hours so you really can miss it sometimes. I finally got mine opk positive this month. Additionally to this I use Natural Cycles app to check my bbt. Now 2ww.. 2nd cycle after mmc. I wish you all the best!

The strips are easy to read. The control line always appears, but a positive is only when the test line is as dark as the control one or darker.

I would use the Premom app that goes with the easy at home tests! Take pictures of the tests in the app and it will tell you low, positive, and on your peak surge day! And just track it because your “surge” may show up as just positive depending on how much of that hormone your body produces! Good luck. Something that we did that helped really see the progression of the LH surge -- after the cheapy ovulation test strip dries, tape it on a piece of paper and write the date/cycle day next to it. You will start to see how the second line darkens and it will be easier to see which day truly is the darkest. If you do this a few different cycles, you will definitely see a pattern! :) good luck!

Just so you know, your LH surge (positive OPK) will happen 12-36 hours BEFORE your actual ovulation. Always listen to your body. You may have missed the surge but may have been ovulating.

The easy@at home test have to use 1st morning urine or I found that they aren't accurate. But they are 1st thing in the morning!

You only need to use the Clear blue ovulation sticks once a day, your first morning urine. I have alot left over sticks that you use for those clear blue digital ovulating readers. I might send them to your PO Box! They are far superior and easier to read then the cheapies. Good luck, I hope this of your month!

If you need to buy a new clearblue test set make sure you use your original tester. If you use the new one it will reset ( meaning you will get the 0 as the baseline even if you were close to ovulation). About your CM it is due to your rise in Estrogen ( which is a HUGE indicator you have tons of follicles growing in there!) - when follicles grow they produce estrogen take you CM as a sign that you most likely have a handful growing well. That is why in IVF people who have too many follicles have to cancel cycles because their estrogen goes too high ( this almost happened to me ( which is why I know all of this) - thankfully it kept right under the threshold) because if the estrogen gets too high you will have OHSS). Long story short - CM is a HUGH sign the meds worked and if you use a new pack use your old clearblue stick reader ( I made this mistake - messed up a whole cycle).

Do check for your follicles rupture. I was too on letrozole & my follicles didn't rupture by its own & after two months later my doc & I found out that follicles ended up being cyst with liquid filled & size measuring 7.5 cm & 6.3cm on both ovaries . Do get a rupture shot

Easy@home you dip for 3 seconds and read the test after 5 min or until the test is white. You should also test between 10am - 8 or 9pm :)

I have unexplained infertility. Tried first round of Clomid at 100mg a night with trigger shot and IUI and didn't get pregnant. 2nd round of Clomid at 150mg with 3 follistim shots and a trigger shot with IUI, not pregnant. 3rd round i switched to Letrozole 3 pills per night with 5 follistim shots a trigger shot and IUI.... waiting on results

Carissa if your discharge is egg white(for anyone that doesn't know it's a raw egg white)anyway if your discharge is clear get to it you two. I would do it everyday or every second day at this stage and if you have an orgasm it also helps. We were supposed to do IUI #2 for Baby #3 this month. BUT... I ovulated on day 12 with Letrozole and I didn’t get my ultrasound until CD 14.. So nothing this month. The strips, the test line has to be dark or as dark as the control line, I prefer Pregmate they are easy to read and they get super dark. The Clearblue will be the circle for a few days then changing to a flashing and then hopefully a solid. You CANNOT use other test sticks from other holders, once you are out of the sticks with that holder you have to buy a new kit, unfortunately and they are very expensive, I've bought several. When timing sex you have to have sex every day or every other day, the swimmers live for 5 days, so have sex at least every other day. You can test with the strips 2-3 or more times a day. Watch the Clearblue Digital Advanced videos on KZbin, not the ones people make but the one Clearblue made, it's a little over 3 minutes I think, it will help you to understand it better. Once you get your peak, do NOT keep testing with it and it should be only better used once a day, with first morning urine after your longest sleep. The thing I have read over and over is that by the time you get a peak its already too late, that's why they say have sex often, every day if no sperm issues, and especially during the fertile week.
