I used to live in LB NY on Shore & Monroe in 1993-94. I walked that LB NY boardwalk daily from 1988 to 1994 before move to FL. Haven't returned since 2011, so, wow, some amazing changes, like restaurants, on the boardwalk. Thanks for the ride!!!

I have ridden that boardwalk from Riis Park to Beach 9th street... so many times it's not funny. I lived in Arverne. 4 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from Jamacia Bay... Nice to see the bike lane on Shore Front Pkwy. over the Crossbay bridge and through Broad Channel... Been there, done that! I would also go further up into Bell Harbor and over the Marine Parkway Bridge.. into Brooklyn.. and go to Kings Plaza shopping mall..

Awesome! I also rode on the old Rockaway Boardwalk before Hurricane Sandy as well. I remember my hands getting sore from the bumpy ride! The new one is a big improvement, although it can't really be called a boardwalk anymore, more like a concrete walk!

Actionkid105 what bike and safety equipment do you have or recommend. I am planning a trip to ny and would love to see a video of your setup. Great video by the way keep them coming.

I recommend wide tires (I ride with 32c's). Bicycles are a tricky thing to recommend since everyone's preferences are different (it's like which clothing to buy)! I have the safety equipment that I use listed in the video description under "Safety Accessories". You don't have to use all of them, but using more in a sensible way definitely helps! I've been wanting to get a video of my setup recorded for a while now and it's still on my to-do list!

@@ActionKid I have a Peugeot road bike, not sure what model I just know it was made in France in the mid 70's. It only weighs 3 or 4 lbs. Maybe next summer I will make it to NY. I live in Pennsylvania. Some of the safety equipment I have but I need to get a horn and a bell. I like the horn that you have. Thank you for the reply and great video.

Maybe you should find a way to fix the camera on the bike. All those head movements spoil the experience somewhat.

It’s a trade off in viewing angle. I’ve tried mounting the camera on my handlebars before and a chest camera but I didn’t like it because the angle was static. With the camera on my helmet you get to see (mostly) what I’m seeing most of the time.

It actually did have more before Sandy. They rebuilt the town nicely since though. I hope maybe someday you can visit, it is my hometown. I hope you enjoyed seeing it
