4 hours to do a 4 hour bike loop, *while filming*?! We would have broken two cameras and a leg, trying to get back in time. 😂 Seeing the torii gate under ash was jaw-dropping! 😲

Hey guys! I saw this video like 8 months ago, today I did the same trip around Sakurajima, rented the same blue bike from the same rental place. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you guys do for everybody, worth a million, I would never have thought about going to Kagoshima if it weren’t for you.

@@OnePackWanderersIt was quite hard! Very steep hills and sometimes a bit to close to the traffic. But the views and the nature made it worth it. So cool to see all the abandoned buildings that had become overgrown by nature with the volcano in the background. It took me just under 4h, my butt is suffering from the saddle today 😂
@OnePackWanderers
@OnePackWanderers 8 ай бұрын
Agreed! The abandoned hotels and stuff on, I believe it was the south side, were really fascinating. It looks like it was turning into a resort island before the volcano started acting up. You blazed through it! I think it took us 6-8 hours?

I visited Kagoshima during the summer, thankfully it was not as hot as the rest of Japan, it was during Tsunami time. I found Sakurajima so peaceful, and not too touristic so I loved it. I stayed in a hotel where you could see the volcano from the onsen room. I so would love to go back.

Awesome video guys...good job on humping on that bike and making it around the island. Thanks for the shout out to Big Island of Hawaii. Mauna Loa has been erupting for couple weeks now and on the other side Mauna Kea been snowing. You guys heading to Okinawa I'll be looking forward to it. I was born in Okinawa and the last time I went there was 1982 and now my mom said where we used to live is no more...it's all highway now. I'm hoping to go back there again to visit.

Has there been a higher amount of vog on the Big Island? We're in Okinawa now, and we have been surprised at how developed it is! Moreso even than Oahu it seems. Still a beautiful place.
@kipo808

Vog was pretty bad in hilo side but it's been windy and it's pushing more to kona side now. Kona is getting the worst of it right now. Right on...enjoy Okinawa and have a very great time there. I heard that it is becoming more like Oahu because of the development which sometimes is not good but I guess like they say it's all about business in bringing money in 🤷‍♂️
