Fresh wasabi is the best n so diff from the paste. It is intense in flavor n you do not need to put soy sauce w it. A must try! Never had fresh wasabi on ice cream so will need to try that next 😊

G’day, if your group haven’t left tokyo yet, you may want to visit the imperial palace. It’s in chiyoda section of tokyo. You should make a reservation via the imperial household agency website. There should be no entrance fee. Old Edo castle, residence of old tokugawa shoguns, used to occupy the site and more. Edo castle was destroyed in a fire during late 1800’s

I got hungry watching you guys eat! Judging by your description, it seems like the grilled egg is similar to egg (tamago) at the sushi bar. It's probably sweetened with mirin, with a little savory kombu (seaweed) stock for contrast. I heard large parts of Tsukiji Market were relocated due to Olympic construction. Did you find any evidence of that? You might have more luck finding takoyaki in Osaka, if they will be joining you there. I'm looking forward to your next video! Thanks for taking us along.

The market doesn't smell fishy because the actual fish market has moved, what remains is just the tourist-facing restaurants and shops in the outer market. That said, there's still a bunch of seafood there, but the lack of smell means everything's super fresh (the classic fishy smell develops as the fish sits out of the water, fresh fish straight from the ocean does not have that smell)
