Cycling to Mount Lofty (from Adelaide) - Story of my ride / Tourist Down Under

The ‘Tourist Down Under’ series continues and this time the #StoryOfMyRide is about a quick trip up Mount Barker Road, onwards to the lookout at Mount Lofty, and back to the city via Norton Summit Road after a morning in the Adelaide Hills.
It was the day of stage two of the women's Tour Down Under and I wanted to squeeze in a bit of exercise and tourism before going to follow the racing action on the day Alex Manly won the stage to nearby Uraidla.
This is a morning ride while I was visiting South Australia to cover the Tour Down Under and WorldTour racing's return to Australia.

I think that's smoothest bit of road in Adelaide lovely part of the world. TDU turned it on again looking forward to next year.

I love that ride up to Mt Lofty. Done it a few times when I visited Adelaide. As you say, No Cars. The separated bike path for the majority of the ascent and the lack of traffic lights makes that a very pleasant climb.
