Loved this 😂😂 However, because the bike seems to be throttle only and not pedal assist??, I think it’s classed as a motorbike so needs insurance, tax and a licence. So don’t get stopped riding this 😳😳😳😂😂😂 you might get loads of points on your driving licence

I think the top speed of 15.5 mph is the legal UK limit without pedal assist I.E how fast it's allowed to go on it's own accord.

@@yewtree9565 Not sure about the rules in the UK, but from what I've heard, in EU and Schengen countries the upper limit of no pedal assist is 6 km/h if the thing has a seat.
@contessa.adella
@contessa.adella 3 жыл бұрын
The law says the peddle assist must cut out at 15.5 mph.....but if you have the legs and gearing you are allowed to peddle as fast as you like, within statutory road speed limits. The pathetic point of our EU imposed regulation, is that a fit kid on a good bike can out peddle 15mph easily. And yes, as the OP points out you can get a car driving ban from licence points earned on a toy bike!
@bikepackingadventure7913
@bikepackingadventure7913 3 жыл бұрын
@@contessa.adella Not entirely correct. In the U.K. road speed limits only apply to motorised vehicles, as such a bicycle, legally does not have to apply to speed limits. As they don’t apply to cyclists. However, how many cyclists can maintain a speed nearing 30mph? Not many Pedal assist should be higher than 15mph. If I was commuting at around 20mph I would consider an electric bike. I can easily do 20mph on my current normal bike. So I would need an electric bike to assist me above that, to make that commuting distance not take well over an hour. Cycling everyday around 20 miles would take its toll. A electric bike with limited assist at 15.5mph does not help with that

Illegal to use on UK roads so you'd think Amazon would be prevented from selling them here. However I have to say super impressed with that range. I was expecting a range of about 15km unassisted with 50km only possible by pedalling and using the lightest assist mode. Seems to have decent cell batteries in it. One negative is those tyres won't last long if you use the bike a lot. Small tyres means more frequent replacement and those are very small. They look like they have fitted good quality CST tyres though. Many people use a mains socket timer to prevent the battery charger being live for an extended time. Many charge overnight and if there is a fault in the charger or battery circuit such batteries can explode and cause house fires so if the battery takes 5 hours to charge its sensible to limit power the charger to that time. Also charging fully can reduce the life expectancy of the battery cells so some people might charge for 4 1/2 hours to maximise battery lifespan. The reason I mention it as that bike clearly is not certified to sell in the UK and without certification we do not know if the circuitry is safe. Electronic circuits can be designed so that if they fail they do not cause additional damage to the product or cause a safety hazard or they can be made as cheaply as possible using lower grade electronic components in a more simple circuit. To make that bike legal for UK roads you only have to fit a crank sensor of some sort so the throttle only works when the crankset is rotating. Really it should have come like that and maybe some dyu ebikes come that way. It would be useful to know your weight and height so people can work out if they will look more or less ridiculous on the bike than you plus get some idea of range. If the bike is 18kg and you are 62kg then you could say the bike will transport 80kg for 45km unassisted so perhaps someone small who is 42kg i.e. 60kg total weight would get 60km or someone who is 102kg so 120kg total would only get 30km unassisted. Obviously that is very simplistic as the higher the current output the less efficient the battery so its more like the lighter person gets 70km and the heavier rider gets 20km but people can get a rough idea what to expect.

A bike with a throttle is classed as a moped. It'd be no fun to get into trouble about the lack of MOT, insurance and tax on it... It is dodgy that Amazon are selling these, ebikes which are UK legal aren't much different in price (though finding anything in stock at the moment would be the tricky bit).

The batteries of these items tend to be of high fire risk, try not to charge them overnight or unattended as there have been several fires in HDBs here in Singapore as a result of the batteries exploding/catching fire. Also they used to be ubiquitous in Singapore, especially among food delivery riders until the Govt banned them.

Politicians are too lazy to introduce sensible laws for e-bikes. E-bikes need a speed limit of about 40 to 45 MPH so they are able to keep in the flow of normal motorised traffic flow. ESPECIALLY ON HILLS where an e-biker limited power to 15 MPH, is going to be reduced to 5 MPH up hills leading to a potentially DANGEROUS situation given the impatient, inconsiderate average motorist. Motorist are too stupid, too lazy or too fat to use e-bikes for local journeys. Politicians and most car drivers are too stupid to realise that the e-bikes WILL solve traffic congestion, obesity AND traffic pollution. THEY HATE CYLISTS ! EVEN THOUGH RIDING A BIKE IS UNCLUTERING THE ROADS AND PARKING SPACES. Imagine our cities where 90% of us are commuting across town by e-bike or e-biking to and from the train station. Trains can be easily adapted as necessary. Pollution levels and the gorgeous whether would return to the levels we all enjoyed during the Coronavirus lock down. Pitifully Obvious - unless you are a dumb politician. E-BIKE REGULATIONS NEED TO BE UPDATED. SCREEM, SHOUT and E-MAILS TO JOURNALIST - POLITICIANS AND MOTORIST. ( ie your mum and dad ) TOXINS from ever increasing motor vehicle use are poisoning us and our children. All of us are wasting thousands hours of valuable time in unproductive traffic congestion. The e-bike - tandem e-bikes - e bike trailers for the kids and shopping is our likely salvation ! E-bikes need regulations if they are to become the most popular form of commuter vehicle. Unfortunately Registration plates insurance and construction regulations for safety, similar to mop-heads will have to be adapted. Hub motors are too unstable at speeds above 30 MPH - Mid drive compulsory - Rim brakes wear out rapidly on faster e-bikes and are therefore dangerous - disc brakes should be compulsory for e-bikes - Compulsory -e-bike battery detachable to prevent theft and for recharging at work or destination with employers require by law to facilitate. Lockable anti-theft tracker system - compulsory. Speed limited by law to 45 MPH but with enough power to maintain that speed up most hills. Motorway lanes adapted and progressively widened to provide 45 MPH e-bike and e-recumbent bikes/trikes lanes where riders are three or four abreast from initially using only the emergency vehicle access lane. Truck lane 55 mph and car lanes 70 MPH. In Life the sensible are handicapped by the imbeciles. The most common accidents on motor bikes occurs when folks pull out in front of an approaching motor bike because the driver didn't see the motor bike which of course is bigger than an e-bike. I would strongly suggest fitting a LED head light which can be set higher in daylight preferably with a yellow cover to help the drivers see you approaching the junction. Bear in mind older drivers have poorer eyesight and much slower reactions. It's not much help being in the right if your dead. At night remove the coloured lens cover and lower the beam. We all need to scream at our idiot leaders in all countries to adjust legislation to make e-bikes more popular. The Laws in the UK are ridiculous. Most reasonably fit riders can easily exceed the 15 MPH limit without power assist but the same rider travelling above 15 MPH on a e-bike fitted with power assist EVEN if the power assist is not being engaged WILL BE BREAKING THE LAW. Failing to registrar the bike as a motor vehicle - no registration plate - no insurance - no motor vehicle lighting regulations - not wearing a full motor bike helmet etc................... Please copy and paste everywhere !

I just got the N. American version (Jetson Bolt Pro) from Costco (CAD $450 + eco fee). The version I got also has a twist throttle, but there is no bluetooth connection or display, and the battery level is indicated via 5 LED light indicator. I'm only around 150 cm tall, so the seat height was fine for me but I was surprised at how fun and easy to ride it is. I haven't ridden a bike for a couple decades, but this bike may actually get me to ride a bit more instead of taking the car. Another thing I like, other than the price and portability, was the modification capability. There are YT videos of people customizing their bikes, to suit their needs and comfort, which is great. Yeah, you can get a full-sized ebike with what you need and want for the price of this bike plus mods, but the stand-out is still that you can throw it in the trunk of a sedan or maybe even a hatchback and take it with you.

That's a "last mile" e-bike. For taking on the subway, bus, train, etc and riding the rest from dropoff.

Ok but not for me i think. Sorry but i ride my MTB manual/ analog bike 50km/h ( calculated by GPS and Car - Flat terrain) for a few minutes and it is not a sport bike and i'm not profesional. It is a 4cross DMR Trailstar. I beat U guy :) But i ride with bigger wheels. 21'

The build is identical to the Jetson Bolt Pro, which I thought was a unique "cheap" e-bike, but I guess it isn't. The only thing is, DYU didn't skimp out on the horn and Bluetooth connection.

It only has peddles at all because of the imposed European Union legislation. In the US, the peddle crank is swapped for foot pegs. The UK version has a better LCD readout. In UK it must have a top speed of just 15.5 mph, plus the motor of no more than 250W must only engage while you peddle. Pathetic! Of course you can ride an illegal machine, but if you have an accident the bike spec will be looked at with resulting legal complications. Great fun informative video👍

European plug can work un the UK, just press the earth bit with a cotton bug to open the flaps for the main plug: it will slide in easily

Or how about you don't stick shit in too the sockets even if it is just a cotton bud because younger people may view this and think that because you said cotton bud that you just said it because it is long and thin and that any long and thin thing they find should work. So how about just buy an adapter for 2pounds which you can easily find in pound stores and such.

This is the worst review I’ve ever seen. I wanted to know how far the bike ITSELF goes. You were clearly pedaling several times during your test. Most inaccurate information I’ve seen someone try to pass off. I don’t get it why you wouldn’t give an honest review.

Just what I need to chase the kids around the bike track when I don't feel like pedalling. That horn is epic. Sadly in Aus this thing is over 2000gbp

I have a 25 year old DiBlassi R7 which is a folding moped. (Top speed new 24.5mph with some Italian lightweight skinny super model riding it.) Its off the road at the moment but when lockdown is over and its running you can do some sort race with it. Either distance on a charge / full tank or can you race it on your road bike. I need to find some fun uses for it.

Aren't those bikes illegal in the UK? You're not allowed to have a twist throttle if I'm not mistaken; pedal-assist only. I don't care, personally, but it's perhaps something that should be pointed out to prospective buyers. I might be out-dated as I've no interest in e-bikes yet as my legs still work normally...I would add, however, that if twist throttles are allowed to propel you to above 3.7mph then the vehicle requires type-approval and is a moped. You'd therefore need a Cat A licence and/or CBT and L-Plates and third party insurance along with, obviously, a registration plate. No longer a cheap toy, just an expensive way to damage your driver's licence.

Well mate it’s design was meant to be used as an inter urban bicycle, not a long distance bike ride, you have realized majority of office workers in an Asian metropolitan countries, lives a few miles or takes a train to work, the design of the bike is very well suited for a commuter office workers who rides on public transportation on an everyday basis.

Are those wooden doorknobs at 10:45? Seems good for short trips where you don't want to get sweaty, or for a non-riding friend to ride with you. You gotta ride the three hills or some such with it.
