Sensational, what an absolute legend! I have enough trouble not slipping on zebra crossings while walking in the rain. We knew we could get a couple gold in the pool but a bonus like this taking us to 3 on the first day can really spur the team on, so special.

Did any of you think Australia would top of the medal table at the end of the first day of competition with 3 gold medals to China's 2 and the USA in third place with 1? Hosts France in fourth,ahead of South Korea rounding out the top 5. Great Britain in 12th,just behind Italy,but happy. 10 teams with at least one gold,20 with at least one medal.
