I'm glad you did this video. This helps me big-time because I'm trying to decide on this topic myself. Cyclops is my personal favorite hero. First I have to say that intro was priceless (beautiful family). When I first started dating my wife, I had a Batman Shirt on and she complimented me on the nice "Spider-Man" shirt ;) At first I didn't like the Sideshow Cyclops but after seeing these in-hand reviews, it's pretty good. I strongly prefer the XM version because I like the modern elements and further textures. It goes better with the Sideshow Wolverine in my books. I am in the process of trying to get the XM Cyclops (My first XM Statue). Hoping it works out since its from a vendor I never purchased from. My question is how does the Torso/Head Position look on Torso A? Personally I see no problems but I wasn't sure if he was looking in a different direction. I was literally laughing at the lesson you gave your daughter. I'm expecting my first in August.

Congrats on many levels! Who are you getting your Cyclops from? I've had a great experience with Cosmic Chase. Looks like he still has some in stock bit.ly/cosmicchase As far as head position on ver. A, I think it looks fine. He is slightly looking to the left. But looks completely natural. Much prefer this pose to the SS as that one appears to be a little too hunched over.

Such a close one for me but I think I prefer the sideshow piece, much more faithful to the source material. And I prefer the sideshow portraits. I wish you could combine them into one statue; give me the hand to the visor, the light up and a little bit of texture added to the sideshow piece and it would be near perfect. You can't go wrong with either though! I really enjoy seeing the reaction to the statue by your family, should do that more!

I can give you a justification for that right arm.... if you look at left leg it is firmly planted on ground and the fist he is making with his left arm is more centered to his core to keep his balance.... his right leg is tipping off the boulder of ice and his arm is open more wider because he is about to strike .... it looks like a real life pose... I heard when you said his body should be slanted if he was going for a swing but I don’t think he is going for a swing... he is striking forward and using the firmness of his left body and arm to keep him on the ground and pushing forward and about to take off with his Right leg and and right arm. Your review focused more on detail when I think it’s very obvious XM is the winner when it comes to detail. I don’t think you gave it a all around fair review like gem mint. I felt it was more biased but either way I respect your review. You did say you don’t mind change as long as it doesn’t take away from its essence but I’m not sure if you notice as the end, can’t remember who, but they didn’t even know it was the same character.... I think that in itself shows you XM took to many liberties And about physique I couldn’t disagree more.... no where in comics does cyclops have a elongated torso and his legs and body are huge he would never weigh 175. XM looks like he is on sterioids. The sideshow is def more realistic to cyclops physique. What a great and entertaining video though

Hey Nestor, totally respect your opinion. People are going to like different things. And these two statues are definitely proof of that. In response to your comments, I can definitely see what you're saying with regards to the arm. While it maybe completely natural position to be in, I don't think it was the strongest pose to have immortalized in statue form. I assure you I had no bias other than what my eyes were telling me. I actually wish I would have loved the SS, as I ordered this first. I wanted this comparison to be about the aesthetics of the piece, with little regard to price or how it related to the original artwork. For both of those points, I gave it to SS. To be fair, neither of these guys looks like they could be 6'3" and 175 lbs. That's why I had to go with XM for having a leaner look. The SS is definitely the bulkier of the two. But all this is irrelevant. This is all art and fantasy. Whatever looks good to the viewer is what they should like. Glad to know there are options out there for everybody's tastes.
