It looks like the carbon steerer tube is bonded into the titanium fork. Why not use a titanium steerer tube instead?

Why? Steel would be only a few hundred grams heavier and 30% the cost and ride almost identically.

@@enjoyschill If you have the finances to spend on your ego that is fine with me. I have been building custom frames for 4 decades and investigated Ti frames. The reality is that the 4-2.5 Ti double butted is much more forgiving than the 6-4 Ti double butted and strength to weight ratio for double butted steel is very close but steel can have smaller diameter and thinner wall tubes for the same strength. The substantial additional difficulty and cost of building a Ti frame compared to steel for no real difference in weight or ride quality, I dumped the idea. Most Ti frames are straight gauge wall tubes and do not provide any Ti advantage except for ego.

@@nakitojimo2001 That may be the case but the rider will not out last either frame provided it is not crashed. Something that cannot be said about carbon frames, and I have a 36 yo steel frame that has done over 200,000 km. The modern coatings and stainless steel frames both fix the corrosion problem.

Tightening a bottom bracket while clamping the top tube??? That bottom bracket is not spinning as freely as it should. Dream or nightmare build.

It's fine. Titanium is a lot stronger than you think. Bottom bracket doesn't spin. If you talk about the bearing, it looks fine as well. As far as I know, they use angular contact bearings with heavy grease which doesn't spin as freely as the ceramicspeed with radial bearings and light grease. There will be no noticeable drag difference after breaking in.

I concur , brand new bb with factory grease will never spin as well as a prepared racing bb , how much maintenance you want to do on your bearing is up to you . Overall he looked competent at building the bike . Some bike stands are better than other for building. The ones that go through front axle seam better suited for building
