The beauty of this cam arrangement is that the valves are transverse rather than inline with the cylinders. That vastly improves the port positioning. A wonderful engine.

When I was line tech at a Fiat dealer i did 4 to 5 head jobs weekly. paid 12 labor hours which included lapping valves, new gaskets and seals adjust valves replace t belt and water pump in around 5 hours.

one more thing. keep the valve spring shims with the associated valve. those set the spring pressure at the installed height and are likely different for each valve.

Can you help me out please, head bolts 61 torque, cam towers 21, what are the torque specs for intake and exhaust bolts please. Thanks for your time and all the effort you put into the channel. What is the torque spec on the valve cover bolts ?

I didn’t see one, so I went “until snug”. If you go too tight, they can crack

Need help here. I got gas in my oil on my spider. What would cause this. Sounds like it's flooding as well

A couple things. Gas could be getting past the rings on your pistons. You could also be having gas entering the oil through the valve seals in the head.

@@GarageTimeTV fuel injection. I'm going to check to make sure we don't have an injector stuck open.

@@chriscogsdell6805 that would be my first place to look. If they are dirty, let them soak in a sealed container of gasoline to clean them overnight. It’s an old school trick.
