Recently I oil detangled as a new technique vs wet detangling, blow dried vs air drying, and flat ironed for the 1st time in over 10+ years and I need to get a 4-inch or so cut. I was that strict no heat, minimal manipulation with protective styling, and did trims (baby trims lol) 1-2x a year. I co-washed my hair 2-3x a week and pretty much kept my hair wet. There is truth in all this team natural mess we have gotten ourselves into. It's just a matter of being open-minded and willing to at least test the science vs team natural rules that seem to be destroying too many heads. I've randomly talked to a few licensed cosmetologists and they have all said they are in fix mode for many coming to them after being #teamnatural. I will now do roller/flexi rod sets under the dryer and brush my hair every day...besides it feels good to do. I can't believe I fell for the okie doke but so glad I have the opportunity with no major issues other than cutting to fix. #nolongerteamnatural ... lol

Hey Cyn, I big chopped in 2020 and now 3 years later I am still stuck in the awkward stage, not even touching my shoulders. The hair in my crown never grows in accordance with the back or the front and is always the last to grow out, the crown will only ever grow to touch the middle, in between my head and neck. But overall my hair in general won’t grow at all it seems after that first year of big chop. I have been in this rotation of hair growth since I can remember. I haven’t achieved any long hair since childhood. My grandma took me to get a big chop in 4th grade to cut my permed hair. And ever since then my natural hair has not grown. I don’t want to go back to perms because I do like having kinky hair, I’m just extremely tired of not even being able to comfortably do any styles without being limited to length. I do have sebborheic dermatitis, and I now am switching to washing every week instead of 2. Do you know any good place to start or where I might’ve went wrong?

@@IamCynDoll I’ve used many things. Like tried almost everything at this point. Right now I’ve been using either bio silk (which I do like a lot) or the difeel shampoo and conditioners. I now TRY to wash every week instead of every 2 weeks with my SD issues. My hair definitely sheds a lot less but even with less shedding, NO growth what so ever. And I blow dry with every wash too because air drying just not it for me. Throughout the week i tend to be a bit lazy I’ll admit, most weeks I do nothing to my scalp, after every wash I do grease with sulfur 8 but that’s only for the SD. Other than that my scalp is mostly left alone.

Sd is a over production of sebum that throws off your skin cell turn over cycle. Your the issue, your fill a follicle that’s over producing sebum with sulfur 8. You are the reason your hair isn’t growing. You’ve tried everything so your follicle is full of product and bacteria. Your hair growth cycle has stopped. Watch all my videos you need to change everything. You can’t cure a over production of sebum by packing it with more oil and grease. I’m not being rude by why would your hair grow. You don’t do anything with your hair and you pack your scalp with grease every wash day. All your patterns need to change.
