The Nammi Box became for sale in Netherlands this week. Prices stayed surprisingly affordable with €23.799 for the top spec launch addition with the 42.3kWh battery. We bought one. Might change as Chinese are getting push back in Nth America and EU. This seems to be encouraging them to go the extra distance to make RHD versions for SE Asia and Oceania. The easy option was LHD to Europe with high margins but that is being difficult meanwhile the RHD markets close by often have free trade agreements with China and customers willing to buy chinese.

Thanks for the info on this new EV. Nice EV, looks good. I really love those Chinese EV's. But when they arrive in the EU, they will at least double in price. China seems to be to late to the table in the EU. In the EU Citroën already build the Citroën ë-C3 for below €24.000. It has a 320km range, (in China numbers more like 450km) 100kW charger and a 44kWh LFP battery. That Nammi 01 is not, and probably will never, be for sale in the EU. And even when, it would cost around €30.000 and up, as all EV's from China till today. The cheapest Chinese EV in the EU, the BYD Dolphin starts at €30.000 and isn't better.

I'm curious about what safety features these cheap cars lack. For example how many airbags, side impact protection, rollover safety, crumple zone protection for cabin occupants etc. It would be nice to know these things to put the low prices into perspective.
@aphidian7 ай бұрын
This one has driver and passenger airbags, no side, curtain, or knee airbag. ABS, EBD and stability control come as standard. I did not find CNCAP result for this particular model, but the similar sized and priced JAC Yiwei 3 is CNCAP 5-star, CNCAP after 2020 is roughly similar in test regiments and crash speed to the Euro NCAP. In general, these low price sub-compacts would be quite limited in safety due to their light weight and basic safety equipment. But are they tinfoil deathtraps? No, they're still proper cars. Given how other Chinese models perform in recent years, I'd expect these subcompact to be as safe as other low price subcompacts from major international brands. (disclaimer: as long as they're highway speed rated and cost more than 10k usd. There are also golf cart like "grandpa happy cars" as the Chinese call it, those are indeed tinfoil box deathtraps and are not eligible for a car license plate in China)

@@inclusivelove5165no, not offended. The peak speed is actually applied to very specific requirement. This statment is especially true for none tesla viechle. And most of the time, you cant get full peak charge speed out from a specific charge. The factors affect will be compatability if the public charger, battery temp, and the usage of the charge. That is why I metioned 125kw peak is very adequate. And some time especially you are in busy charge station you are only getting around 50 to 60 KW from it. We arrived at night and came back at night same path NO De-tour this time. Same Luggage same 4 people so in our calculation AND the car as well we would came with only 30% since no detour.... We did not make it, we had to park in a friends house with 0 % like 3 Kilometers away from the home station charger. WHY THE FUCK we did not make it if we have 60% of battery, and even car calculation were not real, we were down 70 kilometers at least. Why would this happen on brand new car. is it not taking into consideration lights at night,? weigh of passensers? is the only thing I can think of and by the way the whole driving we were in economic mode, not sport or standard, economic. As a Croatian living in Germany I must admit that this is already way more than any European needs. Holy crap are people dumb not realizing how much better than what they have (ICEs) even cars like this one are. Drives the same distance with less than half the energy. Doesn't emit damaging gases. Needs less maintenance. You can charge it at home while you sleep or do your wife. Costs you maybe 1/10th of an ICE on the long run. As a kid me and my two siblings went from Germany to Croatia during holidays for years tucked into the back of an Opel Kadett (my two siblings couldn't hold it and therefore puked the sides of the car really hard every time 🤣🤣🤣)...therefore it is funny to me when you have complaints about the interiors of any car.
