What I like that HSR does is that they continue on with the main story with each patch barring 1.1. Makes it feel like we're progressing along steadily instead of having a ton of filler patches of just events only once a region's main story is done and have to wait a year.

One thing people don't understand when they hate on Topaz is that she does NOT get to make the decisions. Those come from higher up the chain. The BEST thing she can do is negotiate the best possible deal for Belobog from the IPC. Any other IPC executive would have just taken the planet by force, as shown by Topaz's employees attempting to do that very thing until she ordered them not to. Like the IPC or not, they're not going away. I do know it would be preferable if they were all more likt Topaz than not though. Think about this: the probability of ecological recontruction succeeding is 63% on average across ALL of the IPC. Without Topaz's personal 80% propping it up, how much lower would that number actually be? The amount of care Topaz has for planets she goes to is far and away higher than the rest of the IPC.

The main hate for me is her belief that Belobog NEEDS this invasion from the IPC, basically sugarcoating that the only reason why this became a problem is because of the debt Belobog has to the IPC. Another problem is that Topaz herself asked for permission to ATTACK and if possible, seriously injure or even kill a nameless of the express. I'm sorry to say this but after 3 years of psychology classes and 2 years of sociology studies Topaz gives me red flags. Not even to mention her half pathetic apology of which she didn't mutter the word 'Sorry' once.

Don't even get me started on that contract that had every step to manipulate someone into doing what you want. Extreme time pressure, a mastered crafted lie, convincing sugar-coated terms, and absolutely no compromises.

yeah also that debt should have been voided ever since they deem jarilo-VI lost or a goner. You don't switch back a debt on a MIA soldier who happened to survive from death. that is full on manipulative tactics. Don't care if Topaz softens the blow, she still agrees to follow it to the letter. She is just as damning as the rest of the IPC

Someone else in the IPC would have taken the job if she didn't, and that someone else WOULD have taken Jarilo-VI by force and would not have offered even the chance to refuse. Yes, in the real world that debt would be null and written off. This isn't the real world. This is a video game and we need a conflict for it to be an engaging story.

lmao the blind hate for her pretty much proves the reading capacity of this community. at the end she literally put her own job and reputation on line for a planet she only met for like few hours because she sympathized with their horrible climate and catatastrophes they went through. so we are just gonna ignore the good stuff she did and just focus on the bad stuff???

Topaz does /not/ have Stockholm Syndrome and I wish you'd have not used that. That's a much more serious condition than her actively admiring the people who saved her planet. Just because they're a corporation doesn't make saving planets a bad thing (neither does only caring about/doing it for the money). If we did it and everyone wanted to work with/under us, like y'know, Serval and Lynx wanted to, it isn't Stockholm for them to want to be with/work with us like Topaz did the IPC.

First off, relax bro. At least he acknowledged that Topaz is a victim as well in this situation. Call what the IPC is doing "disaster capitalism", or "debt slavery", whatever you like, but the IPC is essentially Crassus on a planetary scale, and Topaz is like one of his slaves. She doesn't simply admire the IPC, she was literally sold off to them, just like the entire rest of her planet, and now she tries to do the same to others.
