Have the exact gun, just picked it up a few months ago. I’m a 1911 fan, but this is my new favorite. So accurate and fast. After about 700 rounds of fmj and HST zero failures.

I bought one of these about a year ago right before they discontinued them, I unfortunately paid full price ($1400 after taxes😒) not knowing the price would drop, but I'm still glad I got it. It really is a fine piece, the stock trigger was buttery smooth in DA and SA both, and the recoil is very low with all that mass, it's one of the nicest guns I've ever shot, let alone owned. And if you like tuning performance and upgrading components then the SP-01 Competition is a great place to start if you want to build a top tier race gun, I kind of went ham on the upgrades and brought it's total cost up to around $3000, but it's a _beast_ of a handgun now. It's got a single action only flat trigger with a 1.8 pound pull weight, with the most crisp break ever, and it only has about .002" thou of trigger creep from the very defined wall, with only .050" thou of total travel (I gutted 80% of the stock parts for Cajun Gun Works parts and had a lot of gunsmith fitting and polishing work done). Then I drifted the rear sight off and pressed in a dovetail red dot mount plate to which I slapped an RMS Shield 4-moa red dot on, it's not a good carry optic but makes a great plinking or competition red dot sight with a large window and fine dot. Then I replaced the barrel with a Cajun Gun Works fluted threaded barrel (which was also fit and polished by a gunsmith), which provides an extra 3/4 inch of barrel length for improved velocity along with the added benefit of being able to attach a Volker Precision MK2 compensator for even more follow-up accuracy. On top of the compensator I installed a 3-stage DPM Systems recoil buffer spring assembly and a CZ Customs frame buffer pad. It shoots more or less like a rimfire .22 magnum, especially with the large custom gas pedal I made for it to support my F'd up left thumb (tablesaw + ✋️ = 🤟😮), I nearly lost my thumb and pinky a few years ago, and severed five of the ten main nerve bundles in my hand so my left hand grip sucks, so my solution was a molded thermoplastic pad (which was bonded to a Cross Armory pic rail mounted thumb rest/gas pedal) that fits the entire pad of my thumb, I can press down pretty hard that way and _really_ keep those shots on target. There's a few other little extras like an extended firing pin, reduced power firing pin return spring, and flared magwell with aluminum short grips. The extended firing pin allows a much lighter hammer spring, which is part of getting the trigger pull under 2lbs. There's a lot more I could go into with spring tuning and adding frame mass and fitting and polishing but this is getting long lol, I'll end it by saying, my point is you can mod the dogshit out of this platform and turn an already outstanding shooter into something phenomenal, it's hard to describe how big a leap you can make in performance with some aftermarket parts and a dozen or so hours of hard work.

Have been looking at these and some other CZ pistols lately. I’m seriously considering a CZ Shadow compact if I can ever find one. Very similar, just a tad shorter. These sure are nice pistols. Folks always comment as to how well they shoot with these.

most bought one from a pawn shop but the guy wouldn't come down on the price. It wasn't outrageous... I really should have bought it. Great firearm and video! Thanks for sharing. I need a CZ pistol in my collection.

Trust me I know. I have a EVO 3 and have shot a few. I just never got into the hammer fired pistol (at the time) but ever since I got my prodigy, I am now. @@Rangebrostv
