Made my new Czechmate into lefty friendly. Great video. I found it was much easier to deal with the release spring with the grips off. Piece of cake.

This works perfectly for a CZ 75D PCR as well. I had another thin spring sitting on top of the mag release spring, but that posed no issue. My release was already on the RHS of the gun when I got it, but I found that I was coming into contact with it while shooting (I am right-handed). Not to the degree where it would drop the mag, but I didn't want to take the chance either. Plus, all of my other handguns have the release button on the LHS, so it keeps things consistent. Thanks for the video.

Conagher Yes same idea with other models. That spring is actually the trigger bar spring and is critical to proper function. Glad it stayed in place!!! Once you get used to CZ's they aren't so bad to work on. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for this. The tip about not fully removing the mag release spring was very helpful. Much easier than the SP01 I did where I completely removed it. I did, however, bump the trigger spring out of position on the trigger bar & temporarily couldn't figure out why I had a dead trigger. Definitely something to keep an eye on. Thanks for the video!
@georgerivers5839 Жыл бұрын
I did the same thing. Took me an hour to figure it out. None of the videos I watched previously even mentioned the trigger return spring. And on mine it didn't really have any particular position that it fit into. Just if the ends of the spring weren't riding high enough, the trigger wouldn't reset. Very frustrating!

Excellent!! Thank you. I was very nervous to force past where the screw head made contact with the trigger bar, but it just has to scrape past the very 1st time you remove it.

Thank you so much for this! This will solve my grip issues with the TS2 I am shooting.

This procedure to change to right side mag release worked perfectly for me. Took 20 minutes with just a couple of spring fumbles. My Shadow 2 was manufactured in CZ Rep in 2019. The screw was not staked. It was easy to unscrew and reinstall so I’ll monitor, and I may add a touch of Loc-tite.
@nathanpeterson5924 Жыл бұрын
From the looks of this it should be the same for my Shadow 2's? Great video by the way!

Thanks! Super simple to do. I am lefty and have been using left hand to release the mag. If I want to switch it, I can do it myself.

Man I just got a TS2 the other day, and I really want to put in a paddle mag release but I wasn't sure if I had to remove the trigger. Hopefully it's like this for the TS2!

Richie Schneider I have a TS2 coming in soon and want to install the paddle mag release as well, did it work the same as this TS?
@schneir52 жыл бұрын
@@bradymac7516 Sorry, but I still haven't been able to get a paddle mag release yet. I think it's just like the original Tactical Sport, but I'm not sure.

Appreciate your videos; they helped me install a FO front sight and the bigger magwell on my Tactical Sport. Have you ever installed an extended, wider LHS safety lever? I see you have not posted any videos in a year. I have a safety coming from CZ Custom and wonder how much fitting I may have to do. I have no experience with complete disassembly
@abyss12327 жыл бұрын
Robert Brewer Thanks for the comment and to answer your question I have installed and use the extended LHS on both a regular 75 frame and TS/Czechmate frame. Love them! I didn't have to do any fitting, they both just placed right in. I'm sure you installed yours by now, did you have any issues?
@robertbrewer99157 жыл бұрын
Haven's installed the extended LH safety yet; I will get pistol back from having a "gas pedal"/thumb rest installed for my off-hand in a few days. Will do safety then. Take care!

Good video! Question: can you swap the mag release button to the right on a shadow2? TIA
@docgrit4419 жыл бұрын
I have a question for you sort of in the same frame as a magazine release side switch. I have a new PCR and would like to install an extended magazine release. I was wondering if you had ever looked at one. I have been told that the pistol has to be stripped to get to the screw that holds the release spring. Any thoughts on the subject?
@abyss12329 жыл бұрын
Do at own risk. Think I have to say that! Ha Most people will advise a tear down since it's a new pistol and everything might be tight from the factory. Putting it back together might be more difficult since it's a small space and under tension. It can be done without a complete tear down. Similar to this video. I've done it before no problem many times. Pretty easy install. Maybe less than a 5 min swap so long as you can get the screw out without stripping it and tighten it all back down. Just pay close attention to the trigger bar spring and that it is properly sat and everything is back to where it needs to be. Good luck.

If a screw has red Loctite, you can use the tip of a soldering iron to heat it for just a few seconds and the screw will come out easily!
@stephenmccann25929 жыл бұрын
First class video mate, many thanks. The retaining screw on mine feels like its welded in mind you. A trip to the gunsmith is required I think. Does anyone here shoot in Europe? I'm really struggling to find narrow grips for my TS. I could get them from the US but the postage is stupid money.

abyss1232 so fo you think if I bought a cz 75 sp01 tactical that i can switch the mag release button to the right side? Im a lefty.
@abyss12328 жыл бұрын
S3cK5hun8 yes, the SP 01 Tactical mag release can be switched in same manner.
@bbailey24666 жыл бұрын
Did you re lock tite the screw? I have to do this soon and I ordered a new screw to use. Cajun says do not lock tite the screw only peen or stake and I have no idea how to do that lol. I'm thinking it will be ok just screwing it in tight?
@abyss12326 жыл бұрын
It is possible for the screw to loosen and back out so ideally it should be staked/peened, but I've never had an issue screwing in tight with small amount of loctite. That's just my experience, YMMV.
@S3cK5hun88 жыл бұрын
does this work on the sp 01 tactical?
