Will this continue & be a city build series??
@Czardus2 жыл бұрын
@@Paul-un2bj I’m planning to build the city as we discuss different topics for beginners. This series is currently scheduled to post every other Friday (alternating with my Chicago history project series).

Even after having accumulated about 500 hrs in the game, I always find the "Beginner Guide" style of videos so enlightening

The town probably started as a railroad water and fuel stop. Timber and water are close by. Commecial center by the track downtown where a layover hotel might have been extablished. Thr railroad by the trees would connect the lumber industrial to the town and further down the line.

The whole parallel path section and how to properly connect two areas saved me so many headaches... Thanks!

I'm thrilled to hear that you found the video helpful. Is there anything else you'd like me to cover in future videos?

Nice to see an unlock-tiles-as-you-go series! I believe it'd more of a challenge that way and makes for interesting trade-offs. Great work

2200 hour chungus here. I find it hard to start maps because I always employ a self exposed “no delete” policy to simulate real life. This makes starting a brand new city almost impossible because I’m working off of the assumption that there will be something set up for me to work off of. I always try to find people playing on maps I choose so I can emulate their starting layout and then continue on from there. But the pain point of the game even after I do that is transportation. That is the profession I am studying in college so I always want to put those into my city but with how weird the game expands with real time and the population rebalance mod… it just makes it almost unbearable. These videos are always a treat, no matter how many hours you’ve sunk into this game.

I’m so glad you found the video helpful and enjoyable, even though you’re definitely not a beginner!

Do you have a series of videos where each video is a continuation of the last one? I wanted to “follow along” with you, but this #2 video is a different map than your #1 video.

Is there an episode showing the start of this city? It doesn’t seem to be the previous episode in the playlist…different city
@Czardus Жыл бұрын
Not exactly. I recorded the start without an intention of recording more of the city and didn’t save it. Then I later decided to do a follow up and just recreated the same style start.

Do you let the population "dictate" what you build next as far as amenities? My population is complaining about medical care. So should I do that first before fire or police?
@Czardus Жыл бұрын
Somewhat, but really I look at budget first and foremost. Deathcare is critical and must be provided ASAP. The rest can wait until you feel like you have the budget surplus to cover the ongoing cost of the service. Then I would do fire and police first.
