It's also a shot with a really well-made composition, thanks to the gray painting in the background (it's dull color doesn't attract attention for the viewer's eye, and it works well against the demon's red and black face so that he sticks out better).

I think it worked because it made it more realistic. Scary things IRL don't have a dramatic build up, it's BOOM in your face. The nothing there for one second, then there's something with a zoomed in shot was nuts!!! Plus we're lulled into a false sense of comfort with the brightly lit room & someone around whom can explain & *"had experience"* with such thing's.
@robertbobbypelletreaujr2173 Жыл бұрын
RFD is creepy because it continues doing what its doing and what its doing is oddly out of place. It doesn't stop to attack or greet, doesn't speak or show interest, just keeps on sharpening a Bat-a-rang, smoothening its rusty jock strap, removing blemishes from its silver skeleton key, after preparing a pair of brass knuckles for whoever keeps showing up to solve his mysteries an shit..

The fifth installment eludes to the Red Faced Demon actually being Dalton, as seen by Dalton matching his bloody hand to the bloody handprint on his roommate's bed. The demon represents the anger and resentment toward his father. All of the negative relationships in his life are manifestations of this: the bad relationship with his dad, not talking to his mom, putting his roommate/girlfriend in danger as she is almost choked to death by the demon. It isn't until his father proves his commitment and love for him by saving him in the further that Dalton is able to overcome the demon. He paints that part of his life, his identity crisis, black, as if to erase it. He dealt with it and is now able to move on. It's great social commentary on how people deal with identity. It isn't until we come to terms with who we are that we begin to build healthy relationships with others, just as Dalton did at the end of the fifth installment. These are my intellectual meanderings.

what-red man is a demon and he always will be. I think you mean that the Red man does PARTIALLY represent dalton, just like how bride in black partially represents josh. But red man still actually existed just like bride in black

The jump scare scene in the kitchen where red face first appeared was probably the most scared I ever was in a movie. A close second would be at the beginning of The Ring where the dead girl was in the closet…I seen that when I was a kid and I swear it ruined my childhood.

Oddly enough, I heard once that the Tiny Tim song played in this movie was actually the one he was performing when he keeled over during said song from a heart attack. I don't know if that's true, but if it is then let's face it, that's a heck of a horrific coincidence. If all of this is indeed true, then maybe that's why they chose to use it.

When I was 4 or so I watched the insidious movie with my family at home, when that song came on and it showed the demon I was so utterly scared I ran out the room and couldn't sleep for a couple days. I still couldn't listen to that song for 6 years afterward and would always get a horribly flashback and nightmares. Traumatizing

I actually left the theater when I went to go and see this because of RFD. I had such a visceral reaction I didn’t know what else to do but to get up and walk out. I had to sleep with a light of for a few months after seeing it because I genuinely became terrified of the dark. To this day as an almost 30 year old I choose not to watch any of the insidious movies. The “tip toe through the window” song still gives me nightmares as well

Agree, if they don't touch not even a bit on that cliff hanger... I'm gonna be so mad. Though the good thing is there not turning it into paranormal activity. Also CZ, hi long time watcher of your videos, and huge fan the insidous franchise, could you make a video upon parker Crane. Upon the man who can't breathe and key face could be much harder sense there's little information on both. I would really like to see one upon the bride in black.
