Thank you for providing me the new sentences, and Merry Christmas, everybody. The Japanese phrase "ケース・バイ・ケース" (keisu bai keisu) is indeed a "gairaigo", borrowed directly from the English expression "case by case." In Japanese, it’s used similarly to the original English phrase, meaning "it depends on the situation" or "on a case-by-case basis." But the nuance can sometimes be broader in Japanese, and it might be used in contexts where English speakers would say something like "it varies" or "it depends." There're gairaigo which has the different meaning from English, such as "naive", though. Anyway, this's a good example of how Japanese incorporates foreign words and adapts them into everyday language! See you tomorrow.

It's pretty interesting how some English phrases are adopted into Japanese! "ケース・バイ・ケース" is just one example, but there are many others. It's always fun to notice these connections between languages.

Thank you for watching! "Case by case" is actually used in English to mean "it depends on the situation." This is frequently used. I also had the experience of being denied when I applied for overtime pay, and I was told, "case by case".
