I think those themed starter sets were one of the best ideas WotC had to bring new gamers in. That Stranger Things box was all over the place at Target and Barnes and Noble. I'm sure they sold a good many copies to curious fans of the show.

Hey dude. Congratulations!!! here's a joke dnd 5 e is gonna be like GTA v even got dlcs xanantar and Tasha to name the most mentioned. By the way kudos to you for being part of the dnd community. Another great video, Dave. I keep procrastinating leading a game of Lost Mine. There are constant requests from new players looking for DMs in my area. It would be my first DM experience since I was like 14 years old, running random encounters for other kids in the neighborhood in 2nd Ed. I'm probably overthinking it.

I can understand. I am always a bundle of nerves when running for new players, and I've been running games regularly for 25 years. I do wish you the absolute best should you decide to rum Lost Mines.

Shame to hear about the cost of the creature campaign cases. Couple months ago purchased mine at Ollie's for $3 along with warriors of kyrnn board game for $10 in the states recently!

Any plans about making a Pathfinder 1E retrospective, especially about stuff outside the core books? I know 5E generates more views, but a PF1E retrospective would be really neat :D

I may, but I don't have a lot of experience with Pathfinder 1E. I will at least try to do something for it's 15th anniversary this year.

I do love Pathfinder 1st Edition, but I didn't get into it until after 2nd Edition was already out. I got into 4th Edition and collected that during that period. Having started to run 3.5 makes me really wish I had gotten into Pathfinder sooner.

WotC has come out very clearly and said the new books coming out won't be a new edition and will be labeled as the "2024 revision of 5e." I'm sure fans will just call it 5.5e though. I also DESPISE the Rick & Morty set because I don't like the show already but then they took a massive dump on 4e.

I can totally understand that. I do like the show and Rick would be that kind of stereotypical Old School Gamer who hates anything after TSR. I've also had to deal with people like that whenever I said anything positive about 4E (which is one of my favourite editions)

maybe they just copied the manual from LMoP for the stranger things set, I know there's a green dragon in there and maybe even a flame skull

They copied the monsters from Lost Mines into both of the licensed box sets. It's not inherently a bad thing, but the Rick and Morty set did a better job incorporating them into the adventure.
