I've been playing tabletop RPG for 22 years now. This reminds me a lot of my early years. Its unnecessarily goofy, but surprisingly entertaining to watch. The games I play nowdays span from 1 to 3 years campaigns, so they're dense and serious. This lightly spirit is nostalgic and nice. I'm so glad to see DnD so popular today since I lived through the satanic panic a little bit.

God, I heard about that. I'm only 18 but even I know about the satanic panic. I love DnD, I have only played it two or three times because me and my friends are always busy, but it's an amazing game. Tbh I would love to be a DM, but I would have no idea what I'm doing lol. Also, I think I would enjoy just playing regular DnD a lot more than on a computer. I think having to imagine the stuff would be a lot cooler because everyone would have their own idea of what things would look like. But also tabletop DnD seems a bit more complicated and I think it would be better for story telling if you didn't have to pause so much. But that's just my opinion. Plus I have only played two or three times so I don't know much anyway. It still seems like it would be fun, but I think I would like just doing it in person more.

I cant vouch for the same quality that Arcadum brings to the table as it varies per group/DM, but good places to start. Or wait for the character wave for Arcadum's world, but youll have to wait months because they need more DMs

A lot of other people have given great advice on where to find a games but I would just like to give a little bit different advice arcadum is a great DM but don’t judge the quality of all DMs and their games off of this series or any other series lots of DMs do stuff their own way and this can be quite jarring for new players who build up the expectation about how it should be just keep an open mind and understand that even if it’s different it can still be fun and can be totally unique to your group not trying to say that you would judge like that but I know a lot of people that have good luck with your future endeavors to find a group

Just treat them as podcasts or something, listen to them in downtime or while you're cooking or something. You'll miss little things by only listening but it's worth it to catch up. If you haven't started exploring, I'm really partial to Strange Roads-it's a campaign with a slower start, it has a nice mix of shenanigans and seriousness. It really takes me back to the old days of KZbin since Jesse Cox and Dodger are two of the youtubers I was really into in the late 00s, and their chemistry in D&D is just perfect. This campaign has had probably the couple of most blatant moments intertwining with the OTV campaign so far. This campaign has literally just been added to Arcadum's youtube in the last 24 hours, so perfect timing. :) I also have to recommend Shattered Crowns for a campaign that's as off-the-wall silly as the OTV campaigns are in terms of pure silly antics by the players-that campaign also has one of the coolest moments in any D&D campaign I've seen (this has been spoiled for a lot of people because it's a cool story of what's possible with D&D, but just in case, I won't mention the event, other than it had huge significance for every one of Arcadum's campaigns).

I already started watching Shattered Crowns because of the "event" and I was curious to see what that's all about ^^ that's been super entertaining so far :D I'll definitely give Strange Roads a listen as well, another one I've seen recommended a lot is Gambler's Delight.. lots of catching up to do. And yeah I basically treat the episodes as podcasts anyways that's how I got through all 100+ episodes of Critical Role's first campaign ^^ I'm excited to delve into this, I was unfamiliar with Arcadum before Broken Bonds but he seems like a great guy and a fantastic DM :D

Another comment for this VOD to help with the algorithm. Been playing since AD&D (I'm older than Scarra :( ). Seeing the enthusiasm in this group, despite the newbie bumps and hiccups, and seeing Arcadum DM these sessions is honestly some of the most inspiring stuff I've watched in a long time. I bet the choice to kill the talisbane guy or not to kill him, is what the prophet in lily's vision meant in "if they take the selfish choice something bad will happen" the selfish choice meaning them choosing to kill talisbane just to attain the love of babylon for Bryan. Idk this is just me brainstorming some theories.
