Black Hags.... Experts in soul trade and the darkest magics imaginable. What is scariest in your story is.... she was merely watching. She was just testing the limits of a new toy. These 4 adventurers were not even competition for her. She had other pets to launch into action if she needed them. Other pawns. Other magics and greater nightmares these 4 would succumb to when she was ready. She needed them to be distracted.... indeed fighting for their lives to get inside their bodies, minds and peek into their souls deeply. The runes they were unknowingly walking on made everything so easy for her. Her mother taught her well. Always work in 3's. A 3 fold cord is not easily broken.
