@@LnPPersonified Precisely. Unless your game is running off Rule of Cool or Rule of Funny instead of the standard rules, a Natural 20 on an ability check only means "the best possible result under the circumstances." Flapping of arms is never going to make a dwarf fly. The best possible result is that someone passing by thinks the dwarf is putting on an impromptu street performance and throws a few coins. ;)

Lol I love how you're an English teacher but you said "eventhough" "an Spaniard". Eventhough is not a word, they are two separate words, "even though". Also, It's "a Spaniard" in English we use "an" before a vowel sound and "a" before a consonant sound. Here's an example. "An Lamborghini" is wrong, it's "A Lamborghini" you also still use "a" before y's and w's. For instance "an wonder" isn’t right even though w is more of an open less constructed sound, it is still a consonant, along with y in "an yellow". The precursor word should allow the a or an to easily flow into the next word without restriction. "An elephant" can be said as "anelephant" because the n allows the resetting of the vocal muscles to allow the next vowel to be said directly from the last letter without the need to reset and start a new vowel, whereas "a elephant" requires the breaking of the flow of speech unless you mess up the word and say "uhhelephant" but even then, you have to change the conformation of your vocal muscles mid speech to start the new vowel and you must accent the beginning of each vowel successively which sounds conflicting and unnatural. Hope this helps :)

I tried watching a "beginner's guide" with a guy named Sherlock Hulmes and while he annoyingly spends the first 5 minutes of his 30min essay on how not to dress for D&D you actually explain the game core and dynamics in a couple sentences and without silly little "vlogger" gimmicks and editing to overextend your video for that extra profit. Thank you, glad to see someone is doing it right

A good friend of mine got me into playing years ago and to teach me, had me organize the game as the DM using his manuals. A bit of an unorthodox approach to teaching a newcomer but it worked; he was able to participate in the game, giving me a clear example of how to PLAY, and help coach me as a DM which gave me a great understanding of the inner-workings, rules, and so on.

This video earned you a subscribe! I'm definitely looking forward to more of this content. I play with new players pretty often, and even after being in a game for a few months, they will still ask me which dice to roll. My answer is to just assume it's the d20, and if it's ever a different one, I'll tell you lol. But I like this because most videos want to spend a lot of time describing D&D or RPGs as a concept, and if I'm being honest, most new players I've come across seem to already get that. They have a general understanding of what happens in D&D, they just don't get the mechanics yet and want advice for being able to keep up and not look dumb at the table. I'm not saying those other videos don't have their place, but a breakdown of the actual rules for beginners is far more valuable in my experience. Thanks for the hard work!

"Ask questions if you like". - My advice, always like! Always ask questions about the scene, even if you have to think about a question for a moment or two, the DM will rarely reveal all you need to know unprompted, either because he forgot, or there are secrets you need to seek out actively.

Thanks. I'm planning on starting a game of two, in which I'll be both the dungeon master and a player character, so I need all the things I need.
