So I play a lizard folk Druid and she has bitten a number of gross things. One of my party member has taken upon herself to sing to my character “Don’t put it in your mouth. Don’t stuff it in your face.” I nearly died laughing when she first did this. So I gave my lizard folk a creepy snicker so I can laugh when she says this.

I had made a lizardfolk who was radicalized into being a cleric of Pelor, so he would routinely sunbathe on rocks. Still approaching things from a primal mind set but grew more empathetic of those around him. He went off to help adventurers take on some nefarious baddies and stuck with them to help them on future quests. At the conclusion, if the campaign , he settled down and helped the Dragonborn Paladin take care of children at an orphanage. Good times, good times

Have just started using a lizardfolk cobolt soul monk and she's something of a blast - Used the new 'monk ki infused weapon' on a whip which I'm flavoring as her tail with maybe a chain running along it, and rather than being from the marshes her tribe live along a river akin to the Nile in an extremely hot desert (her people's 'build' is more akin to monitor lizards or long, thin skinks than the standard croc). Personality wise she's very cool, calm and articulate - always speaking very formally (think how Khajit in the Elder Scrolls series always go 'this one' and stuff like that when talking about themselves) and is very willing to try understanding 'fleshy culture and emotions' but well she's still lizardfolk so like her worldview is still just sorts everything into the categories of 'good for survival, bad for survival, and food' and empathy isn't really a thing she does as such~ XD Considering the wellbeing of her allies so that she can continue to learn from and have their aid? Yes. Actually feeling sad when they're in emotional agony or something? Not really (though since she likes her allies she may still try to assist in some way). (I try to use some of the more cool natured cats I've met as a template XD) Also she's cold blooded and our current adventure takes place in a sort of 'feywild esc' zone that's currently in winter so her fleshy companions are generally getting lots of 'hugs' whenever they leave the nice warm inn or tavern, and well, they finally got to see her loose her sh#t for the first time last session when they had to do a 'build a snowman right or it explodes and causes cold damage' puzzle; she/I had managed to basically solve it... Except it turned out the puzzle had a move limit and my solution was one move too many and triggered a bigger kaboom than usual as a result. My lizard kind of punched the snowman's head so hard it exploded in a non-cold damage way after that and we ended up having to take a short rest while it regenerated~ XD

For a fantasy Guardians of the Galaxy it'd probably be something like Monitors of the Multiverse (extra points if the whole party is lizardfolk for the monitor lizard pun). As for Lizardfolk characters, because I always have to come up with some character anecdote or another, I had my Lizardfolk Ranger/Rogue turned Paladin/Rogue Siske. Siske was a good boy, interpreted the "survival of the tribe" part of the lizardfolk ethos as "protect the kiddies/eggs", and after being exiled from his tribe that extended to all kiddies, including the soft pink fleshy ones. Unfortunately he was a character in a Curse of Strahd game, so after most people he tried to protect ended up dying, he got angy and took an Oath of Vengeance, swapping his Ranger levels for Paladin levels. He was a little dense, not the best people person (people lizard?), would definitely have been bad at disguising himself as a politician.

I have a Lizardfolk character in mind. He was abandoned by his tribe for being too quick with his actions, even though they have never lost a member when he did this. So tired and beating (had a run in with a Shambling mound and somehow escaped) he went to a village where he was accepted into a bakery. He mmanaged to make all kinds of delicious food. He meets the party whilst selling some bread. They told him that they were going to invade a cult of Orcus and since ne had a hatred for gnolls and demons (because of a territory conflict between them and the gnolls had a Shoosuva with them) he asked to join. And from that moment on, they became a famous group of adventurers. He is a ranger and the party's tank and group.

Late to the party, but I just finished my first campaign in DnD, and I chose a lizard folk as my first character. Originally a cleric, who I then changed to a monk. He is the only surviving member of his tribe, who were all wiped out by a black dragon in his marsh. Fleeing he came across a band of adventurers, who he tailed for days and witnessed them kill a dragon as a group with one sacrificing herself to allow the team to deliver the killing blow. Impressed and confused in his lizard brain on why she would do that, he revealed himself and was taken to the fallen adventurer's monastery to learn the ways of the monk. Now he travels and does adventures to understand the "soft skins" way of self-sacrifice for the group so he can return and restore his tribe as the apex predators of the marsh.

You flavor healing hands as regeneration then eventually with monk get to climb up vertical surfaces and walk on water like some lizards in real life. Use path of the giant Barbarian to flavor your lizardfolk changing into a bigger species of lizard. Then tack on the masquerade tattoo and flavor that as a chameleon like ability

I started playing a campaign with my friends in which one of them was DMing for the first time. I was thrilled to hop on the player train because I usually find myself DMing. Anyway we're doing Lost Mines and I'm a Half-Elf War Cleric who is a total good boi, Lawful good, righteous helper and defender of the people and my party are a manipulative rogue attempting to take over the town, an asshole that just likes to blow shit up, and a psychopath that collects hands and just likes to shed blood. So I talked with my DM and we decided that Xela was gonna clash morally with the party and leave the group. I set to making a new character and I came upon Lizardfolk and have been obsessed since. Due to all this Covid business I haven't been able to play yet, but man am I hype to be a weirdo that wants to eat corpses. The character is a fighter 2/sorcerer 1. He was a normal dual wielding hunter for his tribe and would regularly join scouting parties, etc. He was even well liked and given a good name for his combat skills: Ix Darrath, Draconic for Iron Dread. While out on a longer-than-usual multi-day hunt he and his party were subject to some sort of magical anomaly. This essentially bathed Ix Darrath in pure arcane energy and infused him with a deluge of arcane power literally overflowing from his body. Well in the moment he injured a few allies. He and his tribe had no spellcasters, so they were all foreign to magic in general and were already wary of his newfound power. Cut to the group returning to the tribe and explanations being presented for the events. In anger and fear the tribe argue over Ix Darrath's fate. Ix Darrath essentially begins to overflow with emotion (which Lizardfolk simply do not do) and as a result begins to blast off magic uncontrollably. In this ensuing madness he injures several more tribesman, and kills 2. As a result he is branded Xin Toth, or Hated Worm, and exiled. While out on his own a few weeks later, Xin Toth is ambushed by slavers who sell him up to the north, far away from his familiar swamplands. While being transported he has more surges of magic and eventually is able to free himself, kill his masters, and reenter the wilderness. It is at this point he now is aimlessly traveling in search of a new home and is attempting to control his newfound sorcerous origins. Also as a sidenote the Sorcerous Origin is a homebrew I presented to my DM that is 'Resevoir of Magic' in which the Sorcerer is essentially overflowing with magic energy. They make the Magic Scouter say >9000 and explode. I intend to play him as a melee Sorcerer, using my strong tail and jaws to rip enemies apart and employing various magical boons and the occasional nuke. I'm getting more and more hype and I'm getting Lizardfolk fever!

My issue with them as PCs, at least in dnd, is their lore basically makes it impossible to make them go on the main quest or stick with the party without turning them into an NPC pet that does battle and gets fed but nothing else. They focus 100% on short-term survival, don't save up for later, and have no emotions to build a character arc around. As someone who takes a lot from lore to build my characters, this devastated me.

I have a Lizardfolk Druid who is…basically the complete opposite of what a Lizardfolk is. He’s a very chubby Gecko who’s incredibly insecure and self doubts himself alot, and while he has a hard time understanding emotions, he does have empathy and is very expressive when it comes to his emotions, and he feel in love with another pc’s character who…is a playboy. I love this large insecure bisexual gecko
