My daughter plays a tabaxi almost every chance she gets. She really leans in to the whole cat thing. She attacks the toes of other players at night, sleeps in boxes or on unattended clothing, and always starts fights at the tavern by knocking drinks off the bar.

I’m playing a Tabaxi storm sorcerer in a friend’s campaign, and she may be my favorite character I’ve played as in D&D. Some of her notable adventures include pretending to be a lamp salesperson, witch-bolting a cyclops’ arm off, and convincing a pseudodragon to pursue a directing career and stop working under a narcissistic blue dragon. Right now, she’s not doing too well emotionally because the aforementioned blue dragon may have killed the party’s paladin, and she was the one who started the started the scuffle.

In our latest campaign our paladin was killed by a PC necromancer. We revived her as an anti paladin and now the two of them have their own campaign. Sadly we don't have a tabaxi in the group. I hope things work out for the best!

I play a rogue with 20 dex 18 cha everything else is 12, plus a custom (DM created) ring of passive invisibly, it ended up an incredibly over powered build until about level 8 when the rest of the party started catching up were lv 12 almost 13 now *we hit lv 13 on Tuesday and I took a level of Twilight Cleric so I have not only a +10 to initiative, but now also advantage on initiative rolls, also have a +13 to my proficiency and any roll 9 or lower is treated as a 10.... so even a crit fail is a 23 (slight of hand, stealth etc) I am slightly re-broken again

They actually make good Sorcerers, best as probably a Draconic bloodline since the bonus dex goes directly into your ac, your Fly speed after getting wings is linked to your movement speed, in general, your Tabaxi sorcerer is a kiting machine able to keep itself at a safe distance or climb to an inaccessible spot overall your mobility makes you dramatically harder to take down than say your average human.

I have been working on a setting that is Tabaxi based. A long time ago, this one Tabaxi thought ‘hey, our original homeland doesn’t exist anymore, imma make one!’ He then walked into the desert, and made a giant mountain and huge river. And when I say huge river, I mean he basically took the Nile, shoved the source into a mountain, curled the river around the mountain in a crescent, and then shoved the Amazon River into it. Now, his descendants rule an empire of Tabaxi kept safe by powerful artifacts, enchantments, and guardians tied to deep histories and stories that the First King, that guy who turned a chunk of a desert into jungles, forests, swamps, grasslands, and hills, collected over his LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG life. It is said that if you wish to learn or find anything, a secret weakness, a hidden artifact, a lost tomb, then this empire holds the secrets you seek. I have a ton of stuff for it, if you are interested in anything more, go ahead and tell me, I’d love to share some!

I played a tabaxi fighter with the soldier background in a Roll20 game. Skinned her as a Mayan Jaguar Warrior with an obsidian club, hide covered shield, and ceremonial turquoise dagger that she used to cut out the hearts of her enemies. The character was searching for the lost Eagle Warriors so she would stalk birds to find out if they knew anything about the missing eagle tribe. She ended up being carried off to a mountainside village of Aarakocra so I guess she found what she was looking for.

Had a recent private homebrew dnd campaign at my friends place. A world of massive floating islands in the sky, very fantasy sci fi ish, hints of Final Fantasy too. My character was a black furred, green eyes Siamese Tabaxi sharpshooter(sniper) named Azula Kresh. Spoke her with a russian accent. Kinda a loner but easy going once people got to know her. She like the squad(the party) were referred to by some big shoot mayor of a private sky island, owned the whole place and hired our crew for missions and fetch quests. Got VERY rich from that man. 😅

Played (Technically still playing, just got on hold like half a year ago thanks to the pandemic.) Rime of the Frostmaiden. Spoilers ahead. Actually played a gnoll swashbuckler (A survivor from the pirate ship Dark Duchess no less.) not a tabaxi, but there was a tabaxi artificer in the party, a good looking female too. So the gnoll who was pretty much a hedonistic sleazebag who liked to take whatever life offered made one of his usual crude passes at her. She was the kind-hearhted sort who could not walk past an injured animal without helping it. He was neutral evil, she was chaotic good. He was a large ugly hyena-man, she was a short cute snow leopard girl. No way would anything happen, or if it did, it would not work, right? But instead of a fight, or one of his one night stand-s with whatever humanoid female that struck his fancy and did not put up too much of a resistance, it ended up with an actual romance and a kind of a redemption ark for my gnoll pirate. To the point that when it came to the cackle casm quest, he tried to similarly redeem the gnoll tribe snatching people from the roads between the ten towns. Best he could do was teach them fishing so they would stop starving and could be convinced to not provoke the humans anymore, but hey, progress. Most of the rest of the party believed he only did it to get the leadership of the tribe and to get together with Chiska, the large albino gnoll female who lead them until then. To their surprise it was at that point that it became known for the whole party, that he would not trade anything for what he already had with the tabaxi artificer.

Nice video by the way I always wanted to try one of these cat folks but I don't know if it's Aventure legal illegal to play one and I already play a kobold so if I just play one of these guys now people will just assume I am a furry. Never played dnd so two questions. 1. Can you have more than one character? 2. If yes, how should I make a tabaxi and small war forged to make Ratchet and Clank?
@Rookzer0

Ha ha I would absolutely allow that in one of my games.

I'm making a Village of tabaxi but not having much luck figuring out their coulture. Should it be in the desert or the forest or snow? Mountains? Trying to fit a lot of races on this map so we have some verity
@Rookzer0
@Rookzer0 4 жыл бұрын
I would decided if the map or the Tabaxi are more important then let that inform the other. Ex. If it is a mountain town - maybe they are Tabaxi that look like Mountain lions, If its a snowy area or High mountains maybe they look like Lynx. Low land cats could look like house cats or Lions. ect. I think it was Scott McCloud that said the world should inform your characters and the charters should inform your world. Pick which is the most important and start letting it fill out what makes the most sense! Let me know what you come up with!

@@Rookzer0 I appreciate that thanks. Probably won't be for a few months, but they're on the map to be used if/when the party goes that way. Thanks for replying and giving some advice, I'll have to check out your other stuff and see if that's useful too. Thanks!

You shouldn't have to. You can homebrew it on dnd beyond and as for buying the books you can get a lot of the info from the SRD and wiki.

I'm french and tabby doesn't have a french root
@Rookzer0
@Rookzer0 3 жыл бұрын
Well poop. I got it from the wiki, The English term tabby originates from the translation of the French phrase "striped silk taffeta," the root of which is tabis, meaning "a rich watered silk." This can be further traced to the Middle French atabis (14th century), which stemmed from the Arabic term attabiya. Is any of that true, or is it all a lie?!?!?!

You are completely correct at the lack of typical cat features. Cats are apex predators yet in d&d they are a joke. Furry jokes don't help, cheap shot really.
