Hello and blessings to you and the family Joe! The build is coming along right on schedule for the 2022 racing season! Thanks for sharing. Love all of you Canadians who are showing the whole world how it is done. May God Bless each and every one of the Patriot Warriors! Cheers from Motown. Oh, getting pretty shaky at the Detroit/Windsor border. Praying.

I have purchased longer rolls of sand paper at Princess Auto, they come in different grits and you tear off a bit from to skinny end when they wear a bit to get more use from the roll; also allows for deeper grinding.

Nice work Joe, as always. I admire that you do everything that you’re capable of doing. There’s nothing more satisfying than knowing that a project you put together is done personally. And lastly I feel for ya. You’re going to be finding metal flakes on yourself for days - the same way you find anti-seize. In your hair, ears and many other places 😂 All in all I enjoy all your content and am happy the warmer weather is getting closer. I hope your season is nothing short of spectacular 😃👍

Great video. You’ve got a steady hand on that grinder. I did the stealth intake that went on my old 360 build, very similarly. Had to after I saw the port windows were all inconsistent! Now I’m kicking myself for not doing my 408 intake. It’s just a torker 2. I have an air gap as well that I thought about swapping out at the track one day to see what the difference would be, if any. Then the winner has to come off and see the grinder! That’d be like 2-3 videos total on some quick change speed parts. I know guys who’d fall on their sword to defend the Air gap as the greatest sbm intake. I have to lean towards a single plane on a racecar. Sorry for the ramble! Excellent work, brother

Yeah, after a couple of decks the intake bolt holes tend to not line up. You can open up the bolt holes to make it work but then the port match will be off. I think I'd a waited till the block and heads were bolted up to see the intake fit and shave it accordingly then done the gasket match...you'll probably be just fine after cleaning up the surfaces but if yer like me, it'll bug ya till ya fix it. Ive got the Indy LA/X big valve heads from Brian in Indio CA and Hughes rockers. The deck is zeroed and the closed chamber heads shaved to 59cc's. I had to shave plenty off the intake surfaces to make it fit right. Too much iron head compression for pump gas and the timing it could run but it still runs strong. From the get go I shoulda went trickflow but I didn't...I'm replacing rod bearings now because I didn't. A few too many detonations kinda hammered on the bearings, the forged SCAT is fine.. Trickflows and Harland sharps have been ordered now and I can say bu bye to iron head detonation.

Nice job!! I am wondering about carb signal change from opening up the mouth? I've seen some intakes that have had sort of a cone added to the floor of the mouth. Some years ago there was a channel that was all about porting and everything he did he showed the before and after on a flow bench. I guess KZbin pissed him off and he yanked it all.. What a shame...

Excellent job of blending sir. This porting will really help in that upper rpm range keeping the mix moving. Did you deck the block? Make sure after you bolt on the heads and intake to shine a light down into the runners. To see if you will need to shim the intake or not. I sure you know more about this than I but when I ran the W2 heads it took a little work getting everything to line up properly. Looking forward to seeing her on the dyno.

after watching your last video I just wanted to share with you that 90/10 front shocks are not the ticket as what happens is the front lifts so fast that it hits the end of it's travel so fast that it shocks the chassis and causes the rear axle to loose traction ctry double adjustable shocks Instead viking makes a good set trust me you won't be sorry🤑

Too bad you didn't have the opportunity to dyno the engine before and after the intake porting. I would estimate an additional 10-15 horsepower.
@LesMorrisracing
@LesMorrisracing 2 жыл бұрын
Ok, ask yourself why is the intake ports smaller? Well for Velocity .. to keep the full from dropping out of the air. The minute you open the ports you slow down the air flow. There is no gain in doing this. Just so you can tell your friends Oh I did that. Don't mean to be Negative but..
@SimpsonsSpeedShop
@SimpsonsSpeedShop 2 жыл бұрын
The intake ports on these intakes are small to allow porting to be done to match what ever head you are using. You ask your self “why are intake ports on the heads so much bigger?”

Not everyone has a flow bench or access to one. It’s not guessing it’s estimating. If the port can be opened 20% make a better transition into the head it will flow better. Watch my dyno and see for yourself. No way I hurt the manifold! This is HotRodding!
