We all know Déjà Vu but have you heard of Déjà Rêvé? Watch this video as we explain the similarities and differences of Déjà Vu and Déjà Rêvé and it's relationships to dreams. A new study in the journal Brain Stimulation explained a phenomenon epileptic patients experienced where they were able to recall a dream or have a dream-like feeling while awake called déjà rêvé. Déjà vu is French for “already seen” while déjà rêvé means “already dreamed.”
Subscribe to Inverse: goo.gl/VJUxU2
For the study, researchers searched through reports from 1958 to 2015 of epileptic patients who experienced the phenomena after being induced with electrical brain stimulation (EBS).
Although this sounds like something out of A Nightmare On Elm Street, the researchers view this study as a way to separate the feeling of déjà vu from déjà rêvé and learn more about our dreams.
“EBS-induced déjà rêvé could be an interesting approach to better understanding physiological dreams that cannot be reproduced under laboratory conditions,” says lead author Jonathan Curot, a Ph.D. student at Toulouse University Hospital. “Most studies focus on REM (rapid-eye movements) sleep period and dream reports obtained by awakening a sleeping subject. However, non-REM sleep dreams account for a significant portion of all typical dreams and several factors might render dream reports less trustworthy - especially the sleep stage before awakening - when compared with reports of waking experience.”

Been having déjà rêvé all my life like 2 3 times a month. It's like watching a 2 to 5 sec video in real life that I saw earlier in a dream. Exact same. Details and everything. It's shocking every single time. But I don't have epilepsy

Yea I have it a lot since I’ve dealt with a bad head injury...Started really intense about 5 years ago...Me it’s like I’m at the same situation I have faced many times I try to move foward but my brain will just not allow me 2...I start thinking I’m already dead and everything will repeat itself for eternity...makes me kinda sick to my stomach when it happens

I’m the same. It can happen in real life like months to years later after I dreamt it. Sometimes in the dream after the main event has happened I’ll add something on like a fire which never happens in real life but I freak anyways just in case I hadn’t made it up in that dream. I don’t have epilepsy either

@@carloslara9976 I once had a dream like this where I moved to Costa Rica and when I was there I opened a bank account and while I was a the bank the banker was showing me different types of debit cards I could get and one of them a was a custom debit card of the soccer team I was playing for and I ended up choosing that one and sure enough, when I moved to Costa Rica a few months later and decided to set up a bank account the deja reve played out and I chose the card, but the thing is that instance of deja reve was one that I remember vividly and thought about a lot in the months before I moved to Costa Rica. so I wonder if the fact that I dreamt about it made me choose that specific card and if I hadn’t dreamt about it I would have chose a different one or if I was already gonna choose it in the first place and it really was a premonition that couldn’t be changed

One time I remembered the dream and then stopped it from happening in reality. I know I stopped it from happening cause I told myself next time I get it I’m gunna go downstairs and if I’m already downstairs I’m gunna go outside and it worked cause everything that happened in my dream happened in real life but I took myself out of it sort of changing the future. The next time I tried to do it, it didn’t work cause everything I did was in the dream, that was the scariest one. Everything I did for 8 min was in dreams, a bunch of different dreams.

My deja reve is never wrong. I always know in detail what is going to happen. The weirdest one is that I dreamt about my friend telling me a personal secret and when it came true I already knew what they were going to tell me. I had no way of knowing that information at all prior when I was awake, and the dream happened a couple years before. I had just forgotten until the event started in reality.

I've been experiencing Deja Reve since right around 11 or so (I'm almost 30 now). Usually accompanied by aura headaches. I see a moment of life in a dream, retain no memory of having dreamed the moment until it plays out. Happens at least a handful of times every year. It can be unsettling and it's frustrating when people don't believe me, so I'm happy that there is active research into this.

@@adityaprakash3555 Saw your comment and I just HAD to reply. When I was 19. I had a dream where I was in a weird city it was hard to see but it look like New York. I was crying my eyes out and my heart felt so heavy so much pain and emotions that it felt real!!! I woke up in my my home (I live in Vegas) with tears down my face and Breathing heavily while grabbing my chest. I walked into my kitchen and so my mom making a cup of coffee I grabbed a cup and thanked her and then went on to explain my dream she then went on to comfort me and try suggesting that I could have been home sick and I knew City she was always very optimistic. I never forgot the dream because the emotions and pain felt so real. A year goes by and I have told a few people about the dream, my girlfriend, brothers & sister. Then one night my younger brother (randomly calls me at work) telling me that he got us round trips tickets to New York. I was happy in the moment but after the called ended I remembered my dream and had fear come over me. I finished my work shift and went back home. I told my mom about the trip and also asked her did she remember the dream I told her a year ago, she remembered it very well. I then told my mom, that I am scared to go on the trip because now I believe that something might happen to her, she then told me with a loving smile on her that "everything is going to be fine & to trust Go" she continues and told me I should go enjoy myself and have fun. That was on a Monday night, my flight was for Friday. That Wednesday my sister called me saying that God came to her and told her that our mother did have long to live. We both and to really acknowledge that we both had similar experiences and dreams/ spiritual encounters. That Wednesday night, I talked to my mom and told her about my sister's dream. I then went on to apologize for everything I ever did wrong as a teenager and for ever making her worry about me. (I used to party and be a "wild child") she like always lol, told me to not worry and that everything will be okay & continue to encourage me to go on my trip that Friday, (I was working 16 hours a day, 6 days a week) (Also I was also supporting my family financially) so she kept telling me that I deserved to enjoy my for a change. So that Friday night I went to New York from Vegas, and that Sunday I got a call saying she passed away. And I was crying at the same spot and place & city as in my dream that I had a full year ago. All my siblings knew that I had dreams but this one was no denying it because I told all of them about over the past year. And even day's before the trip. I am 25 now & that is still the biggest regret of my life, I should have stay and been there and took her to the hospital for the week just to be safe. Worst case scenario nothing would have happened over the weekend and we went back home on Monday. I try not to blame myself but it is hard. However I did talk to God that Sunday night, it wasn't the normal conversation that you would have. It was more like telling/asking God to let me say goodbye to my mom because I couldn't be by her said back in Vegas. I also told God that even if I believed in you that I would no longer follow him (God) and that I would never forgive him for not showing me that mercy and allowing me to say goodbye. But I also told him if he did give me that chance that I would be a believer and spread his word for the rest of my days. So later that night I say my Mom in my sleep. I told her not to go and that I was sorry, she then went on to say "Don't worry everything will be okay" We were about a room apart, she turned her head smiled at me and started to walk away I immediately start to run towards her telling her to wait and the moment I took my first step I woke up with tears down my face my younger brother was sleeping still but I got on the end of my bed in the hotel and pray and thank God for allowing me that Mercy to say goodbye. It's 2am rn and I was just on KZbin and I saw this and it was to close to my own story not to share, Sorry for your loss 🙏🏽 To everyone reading this God is real, it's just a matter if we choose to believe ❤

If I don't write down my dreams then I will absolutely forget them entirely. They just fade away over the course of the day and by the next night I won't be able to recall the dream outside of maybe a very broad/generic theme or maybe one small event within the dream. I have issues with sleep paralysis (typically only if I fall asleep on my back,) and for whatever reason I can usually remember my sleep paralysis dreams/nightmares much more vividly, but that's probably because they're usually traumatic or frightening. I definitely recommend writing down dreams.

Ok, my story! So today I woke up went downstairs and told my mom I had a dream, idk why I did this because I never say that, but my mom asked me what I dreamed about and I just said idk, ok weird, but after school that day I went out to eat at a restaurant with my brother and grandma. We were having a normal conversation and we decided to put the rest of our food in the boxes to bring home. As I was placing the food in the box my brother began to tell me how bad I had placed the food. Suddenly I remembered my dream, I had dreamed about the exact same thing where my brother would tell me how bad I had places my chicken and my grandma backing me up. I felt so weird as they had the same conversation from my dream. In fact, I remembered my dream so well that the colors in the dream where the same as they were at that moment. I immediately said to stop talking because it was so weird! I told them that I had dreamed about it and they just looked at me weird, but I swear I dreamed the exact same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 25 years old and i've been experiencing this type of precognitive dreaming since around 15-16 years old. These dreams are very literal in my case, as in whenever I see in the 5-10 seconds will be the exact same when it comes to fruition in real life through my eyes. However, I have no idea when these are meant to come true. Now 99% of the time, these dreams are very mundane, in the sense of what i'm see and doing in the dream. Some examples being at my college desk with my tutor saying something to me. There's no explosions or shouting or anything, it's literally just my tutor talking to me about something whilst i'm sitting at my desk. Very mundane, right? But there's a reason I said 99% instead of 100%, because i've had very few yet extremely specific dreams that have come true that actually mean some or are very personal to me. The one that comes to mind is seeing the break up Skype message of my ex-girlfriend, whilst I was on my PC, around 4-5 months before we actually broke up. I still remember one sentence almost perfectly, it went something like "I can't be with someone who...". And low and behold, when she did break up with me, one of her sentences was started out like that. To this day, I still wonder how and why I saw that very specific moment in particular and not something mundane as usual? How does my brain or dreams know that i'm going to be breaking up with someone? Another one is actually in the making right now, where I had a dream around a year and half ago, and it's me looking from left to right around my desk and room, then looking back and seeing someone I lost as a friend due to personal circumstances come back and send me a Discord friend request. However, when looking left to right around my room, there's these very specific ornaments in specific places/positions. Most, if not now all, of these ornaments are here in my room after managing to somehow get them over the year and a half at different times. To top it all off, I had that particular dream on the night or a few night before or after I tried to commit suicide. Obviously I didn't thankfully, but I wonder to myself if that dream was some sort of preservation response to try and not get me to hurt myself and calm me down? Again, I have no idea, but it's extremely coincidental that I had that type of specific dream around that night when I could've lost my life. If this dream involving my friend coming back does come true, i'll try and make a quick edit here lol But yeah, overall, these types of dreams are very real, and this is coming from someone who tries to look at things scientifically and logically. And still to this day, as much as I know this phenomenon is very much real, I have absolutely no idea how it works or why it happens. But goddamn, do I feel lucky to experience to have them, they make my life that bit more exciting.

You should type 'ian wilson precognitive dreams' on youtube, that guy has a good video also talking about deja reve. The work of J.W Dunne called 'an experiment of time' delves into serial time and precognitive dreams(he was a precog dreamer) written back in 1927. I have also had many precognitive dreams and what you said pretty much hit the mark. Don't worry, you're not crazy. We are here on this earth for a reason. Life is worth living because of the experiences(journey) itself, bad or good, pain or happiness, we have all of that for a reason, even though you could argue the future has been written, i believe you can change the path you're on Its not completely set in stone, i call it autopilot. Life isn't suppose to be easy, its suppose to be hard, if it was all rainbows and lollipops then what would be the purpose of existing as human being on this earth? We are here to learn and become better 'beings', i believe we are consciousness living out human experiences, just like what people like david icke or graham hancock have been saying for many years. Everyone has multiple goal posts in their lives that they have to get through and passing those 'tests' per say will help grow your being or consciousness kind of like leveling up your character in a video game. I also think because these have been preset before you begin your life it gives the illusion life is all set in stone, but then why would precog dreams or dreams in general be a thing? They might be(if you continue learning and growing) a way to kind of help you remember important things in your life(dreams tell you a lot about your inner self in general) kind of like a guardian nudging you in a certain way and precog dreams are the next level if you 'awaken' it because it allows you to see future events(most of which will be mundane) and help nudge you into a certain path. Remembering the future lol. Mindblowing stuff.

@@Drex... I'll def be sure to check that out sometime later. And overall what you said is also something i've suggested to myself, that some of these dreams could be seen as some sort test, in memorisation or even dedication. Am I willing to go off the path set out for me or turn off the autopilot and take a risk? Some dreams have certainly felt or come across like " Hey, this thing? You shouldn't be doing this. Stop doing this", but those are soo much less common than the actual precognitive ones lol I really hope I don't lose this gift I seem to have, it really does feel like a guide in my life, which is something I feel that I really need in my life, especially now.

@@Dustincooley39 Almost like a mixture of both. I feel like if I really wanted too, I could throw away the stuff i've collected specific to my dream and just move on with my life. But the feeling and experience of having actually having these things actually come true makes me want to know if it will come true soo badly. So in some way, I do feel like i'm along for the ride, but if I really wanted to change course, prehaps I could. But also, that could just change the appearance of how the event in my dream with happen, basically without the ornaments and stuff. Again, a mixture of both, but more on the side of going along for the ride.

I’ve had episodic deja reve periodically over my life. Mostly when I was younger. Not so much at all these days. They immediately felt different from other dreams. I could tell when I was having dreams that weren’t normal. I’d pay attention to the details more, so if/when they came to fruition, I’d have a checklist to go down. This would prove to me it was a deja reve dream that actually came true. The dreams were always lame and mostly confusing at the time. Being in a strange unfamiliar setting with unfamiliar people. The dreams never faded from my memory. It was more like watching a movie and having it always in the back of your mind for whatever reason. Then, usually years later, I realize I’m watching that movie again. Now the unfamiliar setting isn’t unfamiliar. It makes sense for the moment. It’s just my campsite. And the unfamiliar people...those are our new campsite neighbors we just met. I’ve always thought this was something weird and fascinating but until recently there was something that I’ve never thought of before. When I’m going down my checklist and confirming the dream, all I’m doing is looking around and predicting what’s going to be in my line of sight. There’s the fire pit, if I look up I’ll se my uncle sitting on the cooler, if I turn to look to the right now I’ll see those unfamiliar people, then if I turn around I’ll see that chipmunk running across the road. But it never dawned on me that, in order to have all those things happen in that line of sight, exactly the way I dreamt, means that in my dream...I was going down my checklist. I was dreaming about going down a checklist because of dreaming about a checklist. So where did the dream come from in the first place? I don’t understand any of it but I’d love to know about other peoples experiences and what they think is happening.

3:11 it's not creepy, the kid is simply trying to express his experience the best he can to someone who wasn't there. it's a difficult thing to do over and over and over knowing the listener can not relate, yet still trying to explain to them.

It’s crazy I used to think I was alone but I convinced myself as a child that in the dream state you are in some non local timeframe turns out others already had this idea. Humans might be psychic after all and dune might be a prediction. Seeing all these people recount their experience is so validating I can’t even explain it. If anyone is interested I’m currently reading a very interesting book on this topic called experiments in time by j.w. Dunne

This has been happening to me ever since I was 8 years old. I dreamed I was on the church steps and then a red sportscar drove by, it happened a littler later. During high school I would always dream about German class and in the morning the teacher would write on the whiteboard the words that I had already seen in the dream. Just now it hit me again, last month I dreamed I was on my laptop looking for my animal crossing weather seed on a website and watching a Big Joel video about abortion, and that just happened to me, Joel only posted the video this week. I feel insane.

I don't have any brain condition that I know of and I experience Déjà Rêvé once every 1-2 months, specifically the video version. It just makes me feel so weird because I'm just like "OH MY GOD I DREAMT OF THIS BEFORE WHAT THE HECK!!!" Also, most of the time it's from a dream I had a month or more before which just adds to the strangeness.

I have it 2 or 3 times a month. When the moment comes, I remember dreaming about it and know what happens next. It’s one of the weirdest feelings ever. I dreamt about going on a road trip with my dad and having a funny conversation with him, which happened in real life, exactly the same as in the dream. Every word I spoke, everything I heard, everything I looked at, I saw in the dream. The sub conscience is such an interesting thing to learn about. It’s so fascinating

Ive been experiencing these as a kid im now 36 i have them less now but i still have them. I used to really get scared to live thru my dreams but ive learned that its not scary at all. When it happens it reminds me im on the right track and destiny is being fullfilled. Deja reve are testament that everything has already happened. we assume we have free will but we dont. The creator lets us see and remember these to remind us that as significant as we think we are we are not significant and are all part of a predetermined destiny along for the ride.

I've have been experiencing déjà reve for a bit and actually used it to get some money. When I was about 12 and was outside in my pe class, some kids were playing football and I recalled a dream of the same setting having the same conversation with my friend. In my dream, I looked over at the football game and a player fell unexpectedly. I remembered this, pointed at the person, and told my friend " $10 he falls in the next 5 seconds". He agreed and sure enough, the player fell.

Thank you! I have been trying to figure out what this is called for years. But everytime I explain it to someone they think Im lying or insane. Now I know the word for it. I occassionally have dreams where I actively experience something and then say, "this will happen later." Then wake up and forget the dream but remember that I bookmarked some event that was coming. Then weeks, months, sometimes years later experience Deja Reve and while the event/moment is happening irl I can recall having the dream and sometimes the age I was when I had it. At 28 I had a deja reve moment that I distinctly remember dreaming when I was in the 6th grade. Our knowledge of our existence is only scraping the surface. Glad to see research exploring the wierd parts of our brain.

I have had deje reve since before I can remember, I have had very realistic dreams where I feel awake and conscious in them and months later I’ll be completely oblivious to it and I’ll feel it like I’m stepping out of my body and the worst ones are when I’m having a conversation and the words I say in the dream come out of my mouth but it doesn’t feel like me saying them and I only get them at times where it can’t have happened in the past because either I’m with someone I’ve never met or somewhere I’ve never been before. The last one I had where I speak in the dream I remembered what I said and I chose to fight the urge to say what I say in the dream and choose the opposite answer now I am unsure if I fucked up what was meant to happen for my future or if I was supposed to do exactly what I did.

there's a good video on youtube made by ian wilson. he states that he had a dream about getting in a car accident and when it happened in real life he was able to change the outcome and avoid it. i believe life and this universe is on an autopilot of sorts. a simulation*(but don't think of it like that because it cheapens existence) deja reve is a glitch in the matrix of sorts where your higher consciousness is able to peer into the future since the past, present and future all exist at once(serial time) when you go against the autopilot the universe merely recalculates and everything goes back on course. the reason the past, present and future all exists at once is the same way your computer works in relation to a video game. the entire game is already finished and is loaded onto your computer, every level and all of the npcs, etc. each level has the same outcome or endpoint and usually the developer(god) plans 'pathways' aka autopilot that people will usually go down because of convenience and familiarity but just like in a video game you can easily choose to get to the endpoint in the way you choose to(free will) at the end of the day the ending is the same. the only difference and value is what you experience and learn on the journey.

I think I've experienced Dreamy State Déjà Rêvé. Only a handful of times with sometimes a year or more between them, and no trigger as far as I can tell. Plenty of sleep, no drugs etc. I used to describe it as a very strong kind of Déjà Vu that would only last a few seconds, but strong enough to affect me physically - feeling slightly wobbly for a moment afterwards. But I'm certain there is some kind of dream-like connection, but I can't link it to a specific dream with exact details. it's much more nebulous than that.

the most vivid deja reve moment in my life (it happens a lot tbh) is when i walked into my new school. i had a dream about a long, tall, white corridor when i was about four years old. about 5 years later, i walk into my new school and. it's the same hallway that i had previously dreamed about. my dad didnt even say much about it when i had told him at the time and changed the subject immediately. sometimes i'll dream about something good and hope and/or wait for it to become deja reve, so...it certainly gives me something to do!

I have been trying to find out what this was called a while, glad a finally found it! I thought I was the only one! I’ve been experiencing deja reve since I was a kid. I’ve been trying to tell friends when I was younger but no one ever believed me, so I stopped telling people about it. I’m married now and my wife was the first person I told about it in a while, and I’m glad she believes me. My Deja reve’s are crazy because they are minutes long, and even though I know what’s about to happen while it’s happening (because I’ve dreamt about it), I still can’t seem to stop it. At one point, I started recording my dreams every time after I wake up. Did this for about a few months but it was too tedious, and I realized that even if I can prove it from my recordings, no ones still going to believe me. When I was younger, it would happen to me very often, at least a few times a week. Now it only happens to me maybe a couple times per month. But a few things that I’ve noticed that whenever I experience deja reve, my heartbeat raises, and I can’t explain why. Another thing that I noticed is that whenever it happens, on that same moment or at least that same day, something out of the ordinary happens to me. Like. I’ll meet a new friend (not random strangers, but people who I eventually ended up being real close friends with), I receive news about someone’s death, or I would get some real good news, like a new job etc. Idk why this is happening and it’s super weird. I really want to know why and how.

I've experienced this phenomenon throughout my life. I've rarely spoken to people about it as it was worrisome. When it became very odd was when my children shared that they had been discussing experiencing this (as they both had). They start calling it our family curse. Eventually, I started manifesting cluster headaches, which, are a different form of seizure disorder. I suspect the two are related, given the insight shared in this report about deja reve and seizures. It suggests a biological and genetic basis. I tell you this though, this is a terrifying experience to live with.

Hmmm, I find the lack of specific definitions regarding the three subtypes--meaning that they are too broad as stated--readily invites and actively encourages people's natural tendency toward recall bias and toward pattern recognition in which they assign meaning to a current event after it has occurred rather than prior to the event, most commonly done by surfing through the past in order to "find" what explains the present situation most optimally. Even in the video, the dreams included and revealed are quite vague and seemingly mundane (ordinary), and the second one is utterly suggestive and shockingly prompting in the leading questions posited to the twelve-year-old boy. I find it moderately curious and mildly peculiar that there was no discussion into the contents of the third subtype, as that one should have been the one that should have been loaded with abundant details, imprints, afterimages, revelations, oddities, and remarkabilities and would have laid credence to the two preceding it. Is there any particular reason for this omission or for this oversight?

As a person who has been experiencing déjà rêvé since I was about 10 years old. I just want to give an update on my deja reve recently: I was be able to change the situation in which my deja reve forecasted in my dream. Specifically: my deja reve is my uncle started pointing at my brother's class picture and ask where he was in the picture; As soon as I knew my deja reve was starting to occur, I said to my uncle directly that I've seen this scene in my dream and tell him the exact sentence he'd probably said in my deja reve. Also, I don't know if it's by chance but I have an IQ of 125-130 (took 2 tests), some of my friends whom I know that they've experienced Deja Vu or Deja reve has little above average IQs. I'm 23 now, and my latest deja reve was a month ago

I actually find a lot of comfort in this phenomenon, it tells me what I believe about the universe is most likely true. All events, past, present, and future have already occurred or are occurring simultaneously with our reality, which gives humans the ability to look forward. There’s really no other explanation for the phenomenon if you’ve actually experienced it.

My seizures always cause deja reve. I had them for years before knowing what it was. They started when I was 14 (I'm 33). I only learned a year or so ago about deja reve. I just always told doctors that it was like deja vu but with dreams instead of actual events. I'm convinced most people who genuinely believe they're having a psychic experience or premonitions are really just having a partial seizure. I'm pretty sure after years of having these, the damage destroyed my memory and likely caused my anxiety disorder but who knows..

I have episodic deja reve on a regular basis, and it's scarily accurate.. I mean I dreamed an entire week and then lived it a month or so ago, and that was the scariest and longest episode of deja reve I've had. I remember specific stuff also, like videos and what not that haven't been made yet, items that haven't been purchased yet, specific sentences and conversations, ect. When I say I remember specific conversations, I mean it, and it gives me chills when I remember what I said before and sometimes I keep it the same and other times I change it to see what happens. I do not feel like this is easily explained, call me crazy but there's only a few explanations I see plausible.. and here they are.. 1. We live life in repeat and it's glimpses into the previous lifetime 2. There's a multiverse and we're connecting through dreams with alternate versions of ourselves 3. We're seeing the future 4. (most unlikely but not impossible) It's a glitch in the Matrix I think about this all the time and it really freaks me out because there's not just one easy explanation.. I don't agree with the scientific explanations, my deja reve is just too precise for that.

For me it feels like, for a brief moment, reality synchs up with a dream that I had weeks or months prior. I get the feeling of it approaching, like an growing sense of familiarity, then I have this feeling of extreme awareness. I don't want to sound it's like I know what's going to happen in the future, but I briefly feel like reality is a movie, and I've seen individual scenes in the previews with no context. All of the sudden I know what's going to happen as it's about to happen, just for a few seconds. Then as soon as it comes, it's gone, and im left with this cognitive dissonance-esque feeling of having two different memories of one event. One that I lived, and one that I dreamt a long time prior. Unfortunately it's never anything important, at least not in any detail. Growing up I had a reoccurring dream about running away from this ghostly woman down a long, damp concrete hallway. Eventually she'd always catch up to me, I'd get a terrible back spasm, and I'd be thrown down the hallway. I used to get these nightmares every month or so growing up, always waking up with a back spasm, until one day in Grade 12, I woke up for school, jumped on my motorcycle, and headed to school. As I was driving down the road, I was hit from behind by a car, fracturing my spine on impact, and getting thrown into the intersection (being very lucky to have a green light). I landed on the damp pavement, with concrete buildings all around me and the worst back spasm you could ever imagine. Strangely enough, ever since that day, years and years later, I have never had another dream like that. I could never have seen this accident coming from the dream, but looking back it's incredibly weird how similar it was to what I went through as a teenager. Other times, however, most of the time actually, the dreams are far more mundane and equally as specific. Individual cars passing by when I'm stopped at a red light, scenes from shows I don't even know that someone else has on in the background, random snippits of conversations I'm having with other people. And always, within a few moments, I can recall where I recognized it from and how long ago I dreamed it. I always figured this was what Déjà Vu was, but I never felt like Déjà Vu entirely captured these feelings I had. Déjà Rêvé does a much better job of that.

I have deja reve, particularly strongly in the last 5-7 years. Effectively, I’m predicting the future. Or am I? Who knows exactly? I’ve had vivid, detailed dreams of situations, places, rooms etc and some time later, usually months but sometimes years later it comes true and I experience it in conscious, everyday, waking life. If I were to give my best guess as to why it’s happening, I would suggest it’s happening due to things like stress, the body’s survival instincts, mental illness like depression and similarly related things. I also think that the brain might have certain “defects” or be damaged and continue to be further damaged over time.

The first thing i do when i wake up in the morning is to rethink or remembering the dreams i had. Like for example i dreamt about white snake. I searched it on google and it says im gonna be depress. After a fee days it happened. It became my guide.

I once dreamt about a football/soccer result few months later it happened. Also dreamt watching the news and it was a news presenter I never seen before and then a few months later it happened. I'm left baffled cos how would I know these things before they happened? My theory is that theres an infinite amount of us and with the universe expanding sometimes theres an overlap of the past and present and our brain relays the short overlap in a dream after perhaps just storing it in our mind

I now know that I have deja reve. On top of that I am actually getting better at lucid dreaming too. Also, one time I dreamt I was in a other dream and felt like it was a movie playing out in front if me. Sometimes the dreamer kicks me out and I go back to my dream lol funny feeling talking or texting this. Feeling relieved. So, hopefully I get a better grasped about all this and record my journey.

I just had a deja reve. It was a scene that I had dreamt at least 3 years ago and I wouldn’t have remembered the dream if it hadn’t happened in real life. I feel sooo weird right now. Like i was torn out of my life. This shit is crazy.

I'm Brazilian and there's nothing on the internet explaining this in my language, I always tell people how I feel and they don't understand or have never felt the same way. Now I know more or less what it is, I've had it a few times in my life and I'm having it now but it seems very disturbing I feel like I'm in the reality of my dreams almost literally, it terrifies me and I've never had epilepsy or anything like that, the most I have is anxiety. It all starts with normal dejavu and suddenly I feel like everything I do or happen has already happened in my dreams and this lasts for minutes

Ok here goes! This will be a long comment so I thank anyone or everyone that takes the time to read it in its entirety. I have always had moments of Deja Vu that I never necessarily considered Deja Vu. I actually believe them to be Premonitions. The first real incident that blew my mind happened in 5th grade, but I dreamt it in 3rd grade. I remember when I dreamt it because the dream was so vivid, it was extremely clear when I woke up and made absolutely no sense at all at the time I dreamt it which is why it was so easy to remember it. I even woke up and told my brother, sister, and mom about it. In the dream, I was walking down a long wall in a large school and I was a new student carrying books in my hands. I was older but I felt the age I was when dreaming. I was walking at the end of a soccer field and there was a percussion band playing at another edge of the field, practicing with an instructor. Everyone was wearing green and white uniforms. As I walk down the long outer wall toward some picnic tables to take a seat I turn a corner and slammed into a young girl who was turning the corner at the same time in the opposite direction. We both fell backward and I dropped the books. It was supper embarrassing and I woke up with that feeling of embarrassment. This was so weird and memorable when I awoke because at the time we lived in Pennsylvania and I was in a public elementary school which was nothing like the dream. There was also nothing at the time that I had seen even similar to that. Your talking days before the internet and when all you watched was TV regular channels. Then all of a sudden 2 years later we moved back to my hometown in Saltillo, Mexico, and the school my mom enrolled me in was COLMEX on my first day there in the middle of the day during recess there I was walking down that wall with the books in my hand. Everything hit me all at once the full dream. I was able to remember the details completely. So as I reached the edge of the corner I stopped and didn't turn and the girl walked right past me. We did not bump each other. The best feeling was nothing was embarrassing me. It was the craziest thing ever though. While at that school and in that city I had another dream that was a premonition. In fifth grade, I had another dream that was ridiculously detailed and vivid and that made absolutely no sense at all. The same thing, as walking into a new school. This time the school was super small, everyone was wearing blue and white uniforms, and this assistant was walking me to my classroom guiding me there. This school was like a large hacienda-styled building turned into a school. When I arrive at what would be my classroom, the class had not started yet but there were students already sitting at their desks. The assistant tells me to take a seat at an empty desk and there weren't many to choose from. What stuck to my memory a lot when I woke up that seemed so odd was that the desks were so old looking like the ones made from actual wood that you can open and place books and supplies inside them, but even crazier was that they were all painted pink. In the dream, I see a group of kids some of that probably were from that classroom and they were just hanging out in the corner sitting on top of the desk talking with other students from my classroom. I end up taking the closest seat that was empty as I walk in and since I'm new I just sit there and stare forward and then almost instantly a kid walks into the classroom and sees me sitting there and says to me in Spanish "who the hell do you think you are sitting in my desk you stupid gringo" and everyone started laughing at me. Again very similar to the first dream in certain aspects and I was also so embarrassed and woke up feeling very badly. A year later, we had moved to a super small town in central Mexico, Patzcuaro, Michoacan, and the first school I went to there was nothing like that school. But I had issues at that school with some fights and my mom found out that the other school had more prestige and so she enrolled me in a second school. This was the start of 6th grade or more a less a couple months in. When I began the journey to the classroom with the assistant guiding me I was shocked and could remember everything instantly. I was literally debating in my mind what I should do differently. I was seriously worried to go through that situation in the dream. I was thinking to myself should I choose a different desk, should I stand and wait until that boy walks in and takes a seat first? I seriously didn't know what to do. I decided I would test the premonition instead. Sort of like stopping before turning the corner except for this time I wanted more proof like involving others to see their reaction. I went into the classroom and sat down at the same desk and waited to see that boy walk in. As soon as he went into the classroom and looked at me right when he began to open his mouth I yelled at him and said in Spanish (Yes I'm a f*%cken Gringo and I took your seat, what are you going to do about it." Everyone started laughing at him instead a lot of them questioned how I knew it was his seat. Turned out this boy was the most popular kid in school and was the biggest bully there. For the rest of the year of my studying there he never once spoke to me EVER and he would avoid me all the time like he was so afraid and shocked that I would say what he was going to say first. The premonitions became more and more frequent over time. Always with dreams always situations that were strange like confrontations or meeting someone new or experiencing something completely new. A lot of time there wasn't anything major like those that needed to change. But as I would tell people anything about this and explain it to them they all think I'm making things up and lying. So because of this, every chance I get to prove I'm having a premonition moment that comes to reality and I can say what's about to happen or about to be said, I immediately try to do so. In one of those types of instances, I was dating a new girl that I really like a lot before our first date. I was working as an English Teacher as a second language at a school much like Harmon Hall. While a teacher there I had a student (adult classes) that I really liked, but of course, since I was her teacher I found it impossible to try and make a move because it would be unprofessional. When I quit the job due to friction with other staff members, she convinced the front desk receptionist of the school to give her my number and she called me out of the blue and told me that everyone in her class really missed me and that they wanted to organize a reunion to have drinks and maybe go out to eat. I accepted of course. When that Saturday came to be I was thinking everything was ready to go as planned and she called me last minute to say that no one else from the class would be able to make it and that only she was available lol. So I had a BBQ invitation from other friends I invited her to join me and go with me to meet my friends. The attraction was so powerful we couldn't take our eyes off of each other and we were talking so much that we never paid any attention to anyone else. I was literally telling her about my premonitions and that I really like her a lot because I was sure I had met her before in a dream. She laughed and looked at me as cheesy and weird. At that exact moment, a premonition comes to reality and it hits me all at once. But this time I didn't remember when I had that dream it felt more like a deja vu but when it hit me I knew a few seconds forward what was going to happen and I told her "Wow in fact this is a dream I had and said to her my friend who invited me is about to walk up and I will stand, hug him and say hi to him and when I go to introduce you he will recognize you and scream out your name surprised that you are there because you both realize you already knew each other. As soon as I finished explaining it to her everything happened exactly like I said it would and she was so shocked she froze when my friend went to say hi to her. She sat back down afterward and just looked at me and said WTF how was that even possible. She thought it was some kind of prank. Those are just the most interesting and memorable experiences what do you all think? Should I try to learn more about it?

All these people sharing their experiences is amazing ! I too have Dreams that come to fruition . I’m made some big life decisions based on dreams that I’ve had. Wanna hear my theory? Ok, so if there really are multiple universes existing all at once , and time is an illusion - then future realities of ourselves have already tried every conceivable option and experienced every conceivable outcome. So maybe while we sleep similar reality’s are also sleeping in a similar relative position in space and can share memories through dreams !! What do ya think? A little kooky maybe...

No I kind of get that too I can’t tell with much accuracy but I normally know which dreams are bs and which ones could be deja reve, the ones that are potentially deja reve don’t always turn out to be but I always know which ones are fictional dreams. The odds are usually higher by how “real world” the events happening in the dream are

kinda late, but finally found out about Deja Reve. Back when I was around 7 or so I used to have recurring nightmares. Nothing crazy, just me walking on a sidewalk and noticing that the walk ended in a large flat stone, then I am sitting on the side of a tub with the feeling of being absolutely terrified. I had this dream several times. I didn't think anything of it until many years later in my mid 20's. I had tried synthetic marijuana and was freaking out. I went for a walk and as I looked down I saw the same flat stone. I started to panic and ended up sitting on the edge of my tub when I got back to my apartment. At that point I was REALLY freaked out because my old nightmare came back to mind and had a panic attack. For 2 weeks after that I had near constant feelings of deja vu. After it was all said and done I think I might have an explanation that doesn't involve me seeing the future, lol. My best guess is that the drug was causing my brain to interpret new memories as old. And the parts I remember that were part of my old nightmares have some inconsistencies. The house I lived at when I was young had a large flat stone in the yard which probably got substituted by my subconscious. Then the tub part I was not remembered clearly either. Now that I think on it, I was sitting the wrong direction from the old nightmare and the curtains were wrong. One nice thing from the whole experience though. I have never touched any drug since. Though High-Me did make an odd theory that Past Present and Future are all occurring simultaneously but we are only aware of our little section at any given time. It gives me a headache to think about THAT for too long, lol. (edit:.....looked it up, and apparently that is Block Universe Theory. Cool beans)

Dude. This is the closest to what I experienced. I know my mind didn't make this shit up bc I recited my dream out loud upon waking and tried to scrutinize its meaning, until each and every day for years following my dream unfolded constantly. It was so intense, it did feel like a panic attack, but one thing I do know 100% is I didn't imagine it, my brain didn't make some shit up, and I can't rationalize it like you have... the end of your comment really resonates, but like you said, it's hard to wrap my brain around it lol. This. This right here is what validates my experience, even if you invalidate it yourself for your own comfort. Thanks. Also, (makes it seem less valid when I admit this portion, but I fell asleep on acid after tripping some 20 hours and when I woke up, 2 very intense years later even get vague flashes still, of deja reve... I even recalled dreams from my dream ok? It was that intense. I find emmense relief to know I'm not alone. I do feel kinda special for being the only one I can find to this extent however.

i found this video really interesting last year i had been modelling and whilst on set for a music video all of sudden i had a feeling of deja reve. well i almost blanked out and remembered a dream i had in this exact room with the cameras and director in the same place. it was weird i felt the same mood and feelings that i had experienced in the dream. Thing got really creepy when i didnt say i word because i was trying to stay professional and continue the filming. Out of no where the director stopped and said, ' Ahh man that was strange i just got a serious feeling of deja vu'... this was a real experience that till this day i cant wrap my head around. Sure ive left like ive been somewhere before but ive never recalled a dream especially at the same time as someone else. Side Note: that was the first hour of meeting the director and i had never been to the feeling location .. which was in a condo in a area i had never heard of or seen before and have never suffered from epilespsy (as far as i am aware).

I can't believe that there was a study finger about this!!! Fit ad looking as I can remember, since I was a kid, I've had these dreams that later in life vine true. Pieces of the dream I mean. I remember a room with a specific window or a place. The thing I'd I usually remember the dream. I don't have epilepsy but MS. But even before I was diagnosed I was already going through this. Now, things seem more detailed and focused. The brain - the most fascinating thing to me when it comes to the human body.
