The cheapest and, in my opinion, best method is to simply buy a WIFI6 or 6E antenna like the TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus and then open a hotspot on the PC(What has been possible since some update in Windows 10 and 11) on which the game is being played and connect directly to this WFI with the Quest 2/3.

Never had grate preformence from hotspot connection via WIFI6. But I'd love to se a demo. Se my next vid on setting up an extender as an Accsess point. That is still flawless. (Even on q3 now)

it can bridge your wifi connection from your home network to your headset! go to the control panel and in the properties, go to your wifi, sharing, and enable it for the one called "local..." something in the drop-down menu. should start sharing wifi to the headset itself.

Unfortunately i returned this unit so i can't confirm but sounds that grate. But missing internet was not my biggest issue with it.

Trust me when I say ditch the cable and plug the device in like a flash drive. WORKS WAY BETTER. The extension cable sucks ass and I was standing next to the device! My wifi maxes out at 300mbps and I have a ton od device that need to run on it but having the d-link adapter has been an improvement (minus the crap extension cable). It's finicky to setup but once I did it was smooth sailing. Also don't have soda cans near the adapter either as the aluminum messes with the signal!

They are actually on sale right now for $30 USD so I picked one up because it's not worth the $100 USD so hopefully it's gonna be a better experience!

It is US $32 today NOV/24, this was intended to replace the USB cable to play games from your PC, so YES, you havd to be near your PC...was not made for other rooms

@@RCREVIEWS101 point is: using you wifi work better. Making this device obsolete. And yes the price has droped since this review.

Just pre-ordered quest 3 and it will be here Monday so I decided to order a router for it for best vd experience. I ordered the TP AX1800 wifi 6 router. Hopefully everything works great

Remember that you don't have to throw away your old ruter. If you want a totally flawless experience make the new wifi6 ruter dedicated as an Accsess point. Check up my followup: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHeqm3aOebeUqa8si=Whaoi9Q1y7tsXPx1

Would this be good if my desktop PC is on WiFi? I can't wire the PC to the router so air link sucks since its going wifi two ways.
@MrTeeFАй бұрын
@@cookie_doki i doubt it. unfortunately, it is always recommend to have your PC wired.
@cookie_dokiАй бұрын
@@MrTeeF ah okay, weird. I thought this would create a direct wifi link between the PC and the quest. :(
@MrTeeFАй бұрын
That's a valid point, but in that case, you could try enabling hotspot mode on your PC to share the connection (Wi-Fi tethering). On Windows: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot, then toggle it on and set your network name and password.

@@MrTeeF oo thats a great idea, ill try that! thanks!!

Wait so can you not use wifi and air link with this at the same time?
@MrTeeF Жыл бұрын
Apparently, there should be a way to share the internet from the host computer. But frankly speaking, its main purpose is to use Airlink or VD, and there you have the PCs internet.

I'm having some trouble with it. It can only provide smooth frame rates for barely 2 minutes while playing Beat Saber, and after that, it drops frames and freezes to the point where it's totally unplayable. I've noticed that the duration of smooth performance varies depending on the game. In Gorilla Tag, I got 8 minutes of gameplay until it became unplayable. And it's not only the case for Steam VR; Oculus native games are also behaving the same.

@akshayjose6555 I returned my unit because I was not happy with the performance either. But on the oculus app you can check the UBS connection to check that it has a good connection. Also try other plugs. But honestly just getting an access point router is a better option.
@@MrTeeF in my case, I can't return it because I imported it to my country. What if I buy Virtual Desktop app and use it with the VR Air Bridge? Have you tried it?
