Heavy vocals for sure. Love this band! One of the best metal acts around.

Cellar Door is the lead song from the Fear of Fear EP. The EP has 6 songs. The lyrics from all 6 relate to each other. The music videos also carry a theme through out. One recurring theme in all 6 videos is reflections. You see it in the Cellar Door video with there being 2 or 3 of each band member. The shards from the mirror that is broken in the 2nd video Jaded are used to make her dress she is wearing in 6th video Ultraviolet. In one video (I forget which) she looking at herself in a mirror but in the reflection shes wearing the clothes from a previous video. The outros for most song is actually the intro for the next song. When you listen in correct order on Spotify one song just leads into the next with the same sound and melody. Y'all might be interested in doing a reaction to the entire EP in one video. That's the best way to really start to pick up on all the connections and references back to previous videos. The following is copy/pasted from Reddit. It is the transcript of a video where she explains the meaning of the Fear of Fear EP. Transcript: "... it is about someone who becomes self-aware to the futility of their existence. And then each time they are given this gift of rebirth, or alternate timeline/existence that their soul goes through, each time, even if they aren't aware at the beginning, throughout each song, they struggle to overcome their doom or their fate (depending on if you're looking at it positively or negatively). And each time the narrator doesn't overcome their demise, their life ends, and they start anew in a new timeline. And they do the same thing over and over again. And by the end, Ultraviolet is the acceptance phase of that whole thing. The person accepting that fate is predetermined and cannot be changed and they are both mourning and celebrating that."

One of my favourite songs from Spiritbox. This song leads to Jaded. Every song from The Fear of Fear EP transitions to the next one; including the last track which loops back to Cellar Door.

That song rolls into Jaded (last year's Grammy nomination) at the end. The whole EP flows together nicely. Give it a play! ❤

A fun album reaction would be Poppy's new album "Negative Soaces". It's a box full of OH MY!

I feel like I have a lot to say but when don’t I? 😂 to start, no that was not a keyboard, it was the guitar as well as a background synth. I think it was brilliant to have her vocals and all of the instruments to fade out while those two remained prominent. It actually gives the vibes of their very first release/EP. I think I’ve only requested one song from it and it was a vocal one take. They used to have some really eerie undertones to their music (I mean their name is Spiritbox lol) but it gave a lot of Mara Effect vibes. Anyways it’s always so funny seeing Dallas do some harsh vocal mimicking 😂 there’s only a handful of music videos where it looks like she’s legitimately screaming but for the most part, since the beginning, she’s always kinda just mouthed the words like normal talking and she has said in Q&As that she does it on purpose to make the viewer a bit uncomfortable. I’ve really enjoyed seeing their newer music incorporate their older sound with their newer sound. It’s amazing. And I really hope they can take home the Grammy too but they’re against up against some huge bands. I don’t really care about the Grammys either, and they’ve stated they have never as well but being nominated has been a very exciting and cool experience for them. Unfortunately there is only one category for metal in the Grammys and it’s “best metal performance” which can include new songs with music videos, covers, live performances or even remastered versions of old songs. Which I think is bs. But I guess that’s just how the normies operate lol Anyways she crushes the harsh vocals here, the instrumentation is amazing, and the creepy vibe the song and video give off are just iconic. The ending might seem very long but if you listen to the EP in its entirety you’ll see that every song flows into each other. This one flows straight into “Jaded” and it’s a flawless transition. At this point you guys have actually heard every song on this EP except for one, and I would highly recommend listening to it in order in its entirety in your own time. It also tells a complete story and carries over lyrics and themes. It’s brilliant. Love that you picked up on the Wednesday Adams thing! Courtney’s outfits are always iconic and I thought the same thing. I also got Matrix vibes when she’s standing there with a double in a trench coat sort of thing and glasses. And I agree, the Wednesday Netflix series is so good and I can’t wait for the 2nd season. And the last thing I’ll say… the breakdown in this song is iconic.

You both should react to their current song, "Perfect Soul." As usual, it's been on a constant repeat for me. 🎧❤

My mistake, I forgot you both already reacted to Perfect Soul. I'm only 43 and and sometimes I forget things. 😅 I guess it's fittingly enough that you both react to their song Jaded next, which was their first Grammy Nomination from this year, Feb 2024; their second nomination for Cellar Door is for the next year's 2025 Grammy Awards.

Couldn't agree more. My top 3 of all time are Spiritbox, Invent Animate, and Currents. All three have similar structures, but man- they are just so uniquely good in their own right.
