I love how you said that about what's really gangster and what isn't. Right now the most gangster person I know is my best friend, who is raising her two children, teaching full-time, as she battles breast cancer, going through chemo while having a horrific recovery from one mastectomy, knowing she has the other mastectomy coming in months. That takes strength many who claim to be gangster just don't have. That's true strength.

Thank you for sharing, Jess. ❤ I volunteered with a sexual assault centre in university and we learned about rape culture as a pyramid, m*rder is the top of it but the base of the pyramid is how sexual violence is talked about, excused, joked about, dismissed, silenced etc. The (negative & conditioned) way people react to hearing the truth about sexual violence is what allows it to exist without due justice because it silences survivors and desensitizes people to violence. People think that they have no role to play in it because they haven’t been actually violent to someone, without realizing what part everyone plays in allowing sexual violence to go on unchecked. But the best way we can combat that is by TALKING about it and sharing the truth and educating people on the REALITY of sexual violence. I’ve been in awe of how ruthlessly you have shared your truth AND educated people on sexual violence since it’s hard as f because of how badly people want to silence it 💕

Hi Jess, I was sexually assaulted and my abuser got off with "not enough evidence", it is very hard to get a abuser charged for what they did and I believe this needs to change because it ultimately means they could go on and hurt someone else.
@AcaciaJessamine3 ай бұрын
It is nearly impossible in many, many situations. Same goes for when it is a child being abused. If it’s a child with special needs, even worse. The system needs to change. I’m so sorry you went through that. I have been through similar. Best wishes to you. ❤❤❤

The stress of being short … absolutely awful. I was pretty much pressured into dealing for someone when I was homeless and I was always short because I was getting a horrible deal… I had this one customer who would always cover what we were short so we could re up. So I would always start out in debt. Then I got robbed. Learned my lesson about working for others in that world.

I'm also in intensive therapy for narcissistic abuse syndrome, and it broke my heart when I realized all that you have lived thru but on the flip side, I already knew it! Those statistics are SO important. Thank you for sharing them. We NEED a trauma-informed system! It would save lives. People who claim false rape accusations are common make me so mad and are enabling perps and disempowering victims (including children-our system and its lack of understanding of trauma and trauma survivors hurts them too!) without even realizing it. There’s false alternative “statistics” out there (created and used by those misogynist/red pill groups) and some may not realize it’s fake and can be fact-checked. ❤

I remember this guy from your early videos. I’m glad he’s in prison but you’re right he should also be charged for what he did to these women. When that happened to me the police tried to talk me out of going to the hospital, I went anyways, no justice was served despite all the evidence against my attacker. I’m still glad I went because now his DNA is in the system so when he does it again, that woman may see justice.
@betsybabf7485 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry you endured that. I don't know the circumstances of your case, but as a former prosecutor, I commend you for coming forward and and yes, having his DNA in the system is a huge win. As a fellow woman, I appreciate your doing that.
@qq844 ай бұрын
Not just his DNA, it's also your statement. If there are two women, independent from each other, making a statement against him, it'll be much harder for him to get out of there. And the reason for it being so hard to get a conviction is that there are so many false accusations and false accusers ain't being held accountable.

Hi Jess! The reason for the difference in price has to do with exchange rate. You most likely can't fix the price difference because exchange rate is linked to the economy. You'd have to do some math in order to see how to make the price $2.00 everywhere. I agree with you about recovery communities being toxic. It's because there's this idea that Sobriety has to be a certain way. You have to be 0 Substances, 0 Medications. It's outdate and ignorant thinking. There's a few cannels I watch about people's recovery and they are using the Harm Reduction model. The other thing I've noticed is a stigma against female addicts over male addicts. There's this idea that women are the "worst" addicts over men because women are supposed to be oriented to childcare and other duties. At least I've noticed this the more I find female recovery channels. Thanks for sharing your story. ~ Indigo-Twin

When I reported I was lucky I was taken seriously and they questioned my rapist and I went to his sentencing feeling all these emotions. Thank you for sharing that statistic showing that rapists hold so much power over their victims that it scares the living hell out of people. I honestly thought when I was being assaulted that I was going to die or possibly kill myself due to the trauma from it. I really don't understand how you can sit there and say over and over how wrong people are/were for saying things like that to you, when you have never spoke about the fact your boyfriend made one of the worst videos online, wishing death on someone and then saying he'll laugh and write a song about it. He had no reason to go that far with hatred and wouldn't have if it wasn't for a fight you were in with the person. That's actually more serious than men in your comment section that you do not know, how much did it really affect you? He's never said anything more about it, and you think it's swept under the rug. Stop pointing fingers at other people, rehashing dragged out storytimes, and start looking inwards and maybe share some of that, and you'll get your fanbase back. I get that you've changed, and hopefully grown but it's time that you step up an show that because this entire video, in my opinion, falls short. Throw shade at me all you want, but there's nothing more real than showing you've been working on you, with humility.

Please take a moment to read this before engaging with trolls in the comment section. These people are not socially capable of intelligent discussion, due to their stubborn mindset, and attempting to reason with them will get you nowhere. The only way to win a fight with a troll is to not engage in communication at all. The more you try to argue with these damaged individuals, the more aggressive and self-satisfied they will become. They make up the minority of this channel’s community; if you don’t let yourself take their bait, the channel will be no worse off. Do not take their bait. And also, remember that as scummy as these people may behave, they are also people, with their own problems to work out. Don’t hate them, for they-in their own eyes-are not the bad guys, and the full impact of their behaviorism is lost on them. Accept that, though they have absolutely zero justification for their inappropriate behavior, they are humans too, who still have a chance for redemption that only they can achieve. I will post this comment on each of Jessica Kent’s videos, as a PSA. By liking this comment, you can make it more accessible to the quick scroller, and minimize drama. You can help Jessica lead a healthier mindset by avoiding these trolls, promoting this comment, and taking three deep breaths before you speak.
