Do I have to sand the surface to make the glue grips better? I always see people sand it when they do inflatable craft repair with glue and patches.

I just added 6 D-rings to my Tower board. I noticed that the masking tape roll made the perfect ring around each D-ring and I was lucky enough to have a lot of painters tape rolls around so I stuck those on each D-ring (after taping them of course) and put a dumbbell on each one so they all have weight on them overnight. We'll see how it all turns out but I'm hopeful.

Warning: depending on the glue you use and the ambient temperature, do _not_ wait for a full three minutes; that's too long, the glue will harden and will not bond, no matter how hard you press the patches down. I wasted a lot of time and glue that way. Then i reapplied the glue and pressed the patches down immediately and they stuck well.

the glue that came with my d rings from tower boards did not adhere even though I did follow these steps, I ended up buying marine goop and that is adhering perfectly.

What kind of glue are you using ? Or where can I order such a kit please ?

This is so time consuming and such a pain in the rear. Just start selling a board with a d-ring already installed option. Letting buyer's install their own d-rings depletes the value of your brand as many will screw it up but still use their board. A messy board is like a car with the first dent in it, it's not taken as well of care of as an immaculate one.
