It’s in my top 5, not my favourite, but it was so hilarious AND emotionally impactful I can’t ignore it. Sam says one of my all time fave quotes about his only power being that he believes we, as a country, can do better. But I’m not really vibing with the film yet. I think once I see more action scenes I’ll be drawn in though, I’m more interested in it than Thunderbolts

I love how both Thunderbolts and Captain America share a lot of the storytelling style that the Russos brought to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War. I'm a big fan of the more Tom Clancy-style narratives for these types of movies, especially with the grounded, physical fight scenes. Post-Endgame, I feel like this has been something the MCU has really lacked, and I think a big part of that is not having the Russos at the helm to bring that more realistic, gritty combat to life, that being said it does look like the visual effects continue to regress, that CG loooks rough in Captain Marvel but thunderbolts looks better in that department.

Let's not kid ourselves that she was super important in the Avengers movie (at least not as much as Pugh looks like in Thunderbolts) because, honestly she wasn't. I think that if cap 4 is good, thunderbolts will benefit from that because people will want to see more of the same style. I hope these two movies are connected, it’s hard to imagine them not connect in some way (I also hope we’ll have an explanation for some of the things set up in She Hulk). I think cap 4 looks better than thunderbolts, but I’m excited for both and I have no problem with them being released a few months apart, I’m actually happy about that.

I have no problem with these movies being back to back. Looking forward to some grounded government action stuff after years of multiversal and cosmic projects. I'd be fine with it if they gave Sam some serum. Steve's serum made him all buff and tall, but Sam has a much smaller stature, which makes it even more unbelievable that he'd be able to fight a Hulk. The serum from the show didn't transform them physically, it just gave them the powers. I know they said that the power of the serum corrupts, but Sam has proven himself to be a good guy. He won't be corrupted with some.

I’m a bit worried about Thunderbolts’ chances at the box office, I think that with the exception of Bucky, the rest of the team isn’t particularly liked or well known by casual audience members. Ghost, Yelena, Taskmaster, and Red Guardian are all coming from lackluster movies. US Agent was introduced on a Disney+ show and based on The Marvels box office, general audience don’t seem to care. I agree that neither of these did that much to build hype, but I DO think them releasing footage for both simultaneously twice now IS intentional, and I think there will be some story connection between the two. I think the one standout was the editing of the Captain America trailer; that was great! Though I personally enjoyed Thunderbolts more overall.

Oh yeah they're going to open low; but personally these Cap-genre movies are my favorite as they tend to show the most progression in the MCU world. And I'm excited that they're releasing back-to-back. I'm more hyped for Cap4&Thunderbolts than I was for Deadpool & Wolverine 🤷

the fact that sabra wasn't cut from captain america given the current global climate is insane to me. it could be interesting to explore the fact that sabra and captain america are both characters created to be propaganda for imperialist governments and militaries but i know the movie won't go there

3:49 that Sam Wilson would be squashed like a bug after Hulk punch. no serum no strength too hold that shield on Hulk punch. i know i know vibranium absorbs the impact but you need strength to hold that shield and some of that impact that isnt absorbed.
