I actually think a British Squid Game could be kinda interesting. We’re such a tiny island that’s such a diverse mix of ethnicities, races, cultures and classes. I think at the end of the day the show is made by its contestants and how their lives shape HOW they play the games. I think a diverse cast with so many different life experiences could be really fascinating.

Still manage to watch it all on the first day of release. I had intended to pace myself to make it last, but it was too good to stop.

Seeing Grace enjoy a sequel is a good sign the stupid is dropping away from the entertainment scene. Glad she enjoyed it. Such a fun young lady to watch review anything. I respect the Squid guy for saying the obvious, out front, and then dropping a good hammer on the audience. He earned the money which is refreshing to see. So rare these days.

I loved this new season of Squid Game! The new twists and game elements are absolute perfection. It reminded me so much of The Hunger Games, especially when Katniss wins her first Games, only to be thrown back into the arena with new characters and a fresh arena. Just like Katniss, Seong Gi-hun is deeply traumatized by his experience and finds himself caught in a larger rebellion. Honestly, I see Seong Gi-hun as the male version of Katniss!

I'm really surprised at the number of people saying they haven't or aren't going to watch the shows. Guys, you're hereby stripped of any rights to bitch about entertainment being poor. The Koreans have been knocking it out of the park. There's a lot more than just "Squid Game," but it serves as a good example. These guys know how to write compelling characters and multiple storylines over Hours of programming. With rare exception, we're just not as good as their writers and actors anymore. I just finished all the eps. It was good - the games didn't have the same impact as season one, but they were still okay! Shoutout to Gong Yoo's ddakji-playing the recruiter - his acting was incredible and the standout for me.

Im on episode 4 and its on the first level on first season still missing the feels of ep6 but they make it up with the plot of trying to stop the game from in and out and some of the new characters are very compelling. Also if you watched the reality I believe some of the characters are inspired on some players.

These reality shows have been around for over 20 years. I remember first talking about Survivor coming out in the late 90's at work, and its still going strong. Squid Games is like the Survivor Games in the show, but they took it to our childhood games. Squid Games is like Survivor meets Saw meets Stephen King's under his pseudonym, The Running Man (book version). That Mingle game kept making me think of musical chairs. And it feels like our elites could be running these secret games somewhere in the world. And this season really takes it to another level as it keeps repeating the one more game thing that many gambling addicts go through. With the recruiter in the beginning going to the homeless people offering food or lottery tickets and many pick the chance of money to afford more, rather than the singular food item.

Squid Game 2 was very funny and well done. Season 1 is vastly superior with heartfelt emotional drama, real suspense, higher stakes, and better writing. 2 had some really fun games, but does feel different than 1 since we already know where it is going. The strong acting, playful writing, and creative direction help 2 stand out on its own. I cannot wait for Season 3.

Thank you Grace. Your reviews shows you cinematic nous. I have read several reviews but they weren't effusive and cannot apprehend the slow boil and characterisation of the start. I have lived in Asia for ten years now and have began to fully immerse into the Asian cinematic universe so to speak. In a sense, there's always that hint of social commentary in the background (like a character in itself), this I find fascinating as most on the surface appear genial and polite. Kudos to you and have a great 2025.

90% of what I watched in the last 10 years was Asian cinema. It's not surprising to me that Squid Game s2 is good. Asian cinema has surpassed Hollywood a long time ago by any margins except the production budget. No, but it's equally good! Even though it doesn't have the same element of surprise and parts are a bit more satirical/cynical. It's also slightly less emotionally impactful because it focuses a bit more on the themes and social critique. The final episode is very suspenseful. I can't wait for season 3. 10/10.
