D23 Disney Park Announcement: The Exciting and Worrisome

NOW I have another reason to go to Animal Kingdom AND Disney Studios. Maybe not with your Mom but still it seems like a very doable visit! BTW, Disney has 40+ acres around all 4 parks to build out more 'Lands' so I wouldn't worry too much. I'm more concerned how the "Cars-Land" will take over the Rivers of America and the Steamboat area in Frontierland! I would miss that royally! That new ride at Universal the vehicles are on a Gimble like BTTF! And Disney's profits are down mainly supporting Disney+ and other areas having low profits!

In regards to the new Monsters Inc. ride, I highly doubt it's gonna go in the Muppet theater. Looking at the model, it looks like they'll have a duel load and un-load area (that part on the left of the model). Don't know for sure if that's what it is but I feel like it could be. Like you said, they could expand into the Lightning McQueen show and since there's a Cars land now coming to Magic Kingdom, they can just re-use the animatronic there. So Rockin' Rollercoaster is the most likely place, especially since Aerosmith just retired. The Avengers ride could also use that new system that was developed for the Ministry of Magic ride at Universal because while you can patent a ride system, I don't think you can copyright it (again, don't quote me on this). So they would just need to pay the royalties to use the patent. The one big thing Disney needs to do in addition to these new lands/attractions is maintenance!! From my understanding, too many attractions are constantly down or parts of the rides (animatronics mostly) just aren't getting fixed, which no amount of shiny new toys is going to fully pull attention from Epic Universe, at least in my opinion. Like they need to sink more money into the WDW parks than just new lands. They need to do some serious spit shine on the rest of the parks.
